I think that Super Trouper was one of that handful of videos that got the 4K upgrade a while ago. It certainly looks a bit sharper here. This lyric video is fine - they had decent source material to work with - but the end result is not very exciting. TACOM and TNOTG both came off better, I think.

Yeah, I quite like it. Between the 4k upgrade and the new graphics, it actually looks like an enhancement. I see KMKY is next: I hope they keep the levels of class elevated for such a great song.

I too like the way they have adapted the Original Mamma Mia Video, for the New Lyric Video. Maybe even enhanced it a little. KMKY is perfect as it is though, so hope they don't butcher it.

The new lyric video for Knowing Me, Knowing You is out. I think they did a really nice job, this time.

That’s pretty good. How many have there been now, and how many more are there to come?

The "I Have A Dream" lyric video arrives on YouTube on Friday. Looks like it is going to be based around the live performance

Considering it's based on still images, it's significantly stronger than the glorified screensaver they created for LAYLOM. I think they could have elevated it by including some motion footage. I realise that it might have been difficuly to sync lip movements of the live performance to the studio sound but there must surely have been opportunities to include a little slow-mo action here and there. A head-turn. A blossoming smile. A hug or glance between members of the group.
I wonder how many more they'll do? If they're sticking to the Gold tracklist (with the token addition of HNY) that leaves just One Of Us and Does Your Mother Know? It'd be nice to think that other singles might get some love: SNC, AE, TDBYC, HOH etc.

I wonder how many more they'll make? There's only DYMK and OOU from left on Gold.

…but still wonder what the market is for the lyric videos. People lacking in brain cells maybe? I suppose, having been used to having the lyrics on the inner sleeves of albums back in the day, I’ve never really struggled with ABBA’s. Generally ABBA’s vocals were quite clear, there wasn’t much to mis-hear. It tended to be backing vocals that I was more intrigued about (four of which I can think of, and which I now know, are Chiquitita, One of Us, Two For The Price of One and Andante Andante). I’ll bet my house that the lyric video for Chiquitita didn’t include backing vocals so not much use. But also, there are loads of lyric sites, and you can Google them any time you want. How easy do people need life to be? Do they really need a lyric video? As I mentioned those four songs, and I have the backing vocal lyrics in my phone Notes, may as well paste them here… One of UsOne of us is shaking with a heart that’s breaking Two For The Price of OneIf you are dreaming of someone that would be right for you Why don't you call us and then you’ll get two for the price of one We may be the answer to your problem, if by chance you feel blue Why don't you call us and then you’ll get two for the price of one ChiquititaChiquitita, you and I know How the heartaches come and they go And the scars they're leaving (You and I we know how all the heartaches come and go) You'll be dancing once again (and you'll be dancing once again) and the pain will end (and all the pain you take will end) You will have no time for grieving Chiquitita, you and I cry But the sun is still in the sky and shining above you (Even though you cry the sun is shining in the sky) Let me hear you sing once more like you did before (so let me hear you sing some more the way you used to do before) Sing a new song, Chiquitita Try once more like you did before Sing a new song, Chiquitita Andante, AndanteI'm your music (I am your music and I am your song) I'm your song (I am your music and I am your song) Play me time and time again and make me strong (Play me again 'cause you're making me strong) Make me sing, make me sound (You make me sing and you make me) Andante, andante, tread lightly on my ground Andante, andante, oh, please don't let me down

This latest video is distinctly underwhelming. The placement of that glorified washing machine porthole is ill considered, as the original video didn't keep its subjects dead centre.
Some of the comments left on YouTube and the social media pages make me wonder if people believe they're corresponding directly with ABBA, that ABBA are reading what they've written. I find it hard to understand some of the breathless fawning otherwise. And if the LAYLOM screensaver is racking up a million views, then I guess we just have to accept that people enjoy things that we don't...
Johnny has posted to the effect that he has heard that the 19 Gold tracks and HNY are the only ones getting these lyric videos. If so, then it'll be One Of Us next, and then curtains. What's the betting that these clips will be added to the DVD edition of whatever compilation might be lined up for next year?

It was posted on the official ABBA social and one non-native English speaker asked “Surely it’s ‘One of us sits only waiting for a call’ not ‘One of us is only waiting for a call’ “. I wouldn’t normally respond to such things but on this occasion I pointed out to them that it wouldn’t be correct English and that it’s definitely “is”. I then got a response to say that English wasn’t Björn’s first language and as they got “since many years” wrong in Fernando, that it somehow justified their suggestion!
Really odd! A reminder why I rarely comment on ABBA posts on Facebook.

A definite mid-ranker in this series. Given that the original is a bit crap, this neither ruins nor enhances it.
So this is the end of the lyric videos??
