New photo. This would look good in the album artwork somewhere, and someone has confirmed that is the case. It looks more posed than the other studio photos we’ve seen. Frida’s the only one not wearing glasses.

What a photo! It took me a minute to figure out that they're wearing the motion capture helmets and facial cameras. I wonder if they're shooting facial expressions/performances for a song that wasn't included in the first five weeks' on-stage performance recording? The way the lights are directed, it looks like the mouths are the main focus. I'd love to think they're preparing an ABBAtars clip for a Christmas single.... And jj , "no more sleeps" is exactly what I thought to myself when I got up this morning! With no emails yet to confirm dispatch of anything I ordered, I am very glad for streaming. I like the new ad for the show. Using Summer Night City as a soundtrack gives some energy to the clip and suggests it's a candidate for the setlist. Some of the moves are not quite the ABBA we know, but I think the show will look great.

We’re led to believe that the real ABBA performed every move, but I wonder if it’s been speeded up (ie. the playback of the songs they were hearing was slowed down).

Voyage is OUT NOW NZ time is 13 hours ahead of GMT. Their clocks haven't gone back an hour I’d not thought of that. Their summertime is UTC + 13. Their summertime must have started as ours ended.

I wonder if adjusting the speed of the tracks to keep their bodies safe and comfortable might have affected the performance energy, though. After all, they made sure they had an audience of super-lucky catering staff to dance in front of them to keep the energy levels up. Imagine the technology can lock the movements to the tempo after the fact - and possibly even exaggerate some of the spins or bends or kicks for dramatic effect. The costumes are interesting - apart from the Tron suits, they're almost dressed like a tribute act. I'm very slightly surprised that there's no apparent nod to the original stage costumes. It must be a difficult balance to strike. I imagine they might get slated if the ABBAtars trotted out in pussycat minidresses and diagonal-stripe body stockings. So the new costumes reflect modern fashions to add a layer of extra freshness? Then again, if they were to reflect all of ABBA's old looks, they'd need a separate team dedicated to Frida's ever-changing hairstyles!

Not sure I’d want to see them in old costumes, other than possibly the 1977 tour outfits. It’s a re-imagining of ABBA as if they looked like that now. Everything is new apart from hairstyles and age.

I'm listening to BBC Radio 2,hoping that a new track might get premiered. JAN was played earlier and it was prefaced with commenatary that said something like "this is from ABBA's new album and they say it's going to be their last..." and I was completely prepped to hear a new song.
They were very successful in keeping JAN from leaking in other time-zones, so I doubt anything will be leaked. But I imagine that antipodean radio stations will be playing tracks, so maybe we should be tuning in to them?

Well the Pop Justice people seem to be listening to the new album (via the New Zealand time zone presumably) even if we're not! A couple of comments: 'Literally shedding tears listening to Little Things. They sound so, so beautiful still.' 'I really liked the sequencing of that track ending with a children's choir, and "Don't Shut Me Down" opening with "A while ago, I heard the sound of children's laughter..." The whole album is such a triumph, and if this does indeed become their last one it's definitely a high to go out on!'
From initial feedback and the first 3 songs, I expect Voyage will do relatively well critically (as well as commercially), and probably hit 70% or more on Metacritic (which averages the main reviews). However, with no official reviews to date, it's a little early to say.

Overall a very good and wildely eclectic album.
If there is one stand out track to choose : "Keep An Eye On Dan" very modern, 21st century ABBA, would have made an excellent lead single.

With regard to Keep An Eye On Dan, I'm glad that our resident Cassandras seem to have been proven wrong. I'm hearing good things about Bumble Bee too.

What do people think of the sleeve cover? A bit naff. It should be a picture of ABBA. I have ordered mine from HMV where I'll have a pic of ABBA as abbatars. It has arrived today. Playing it now :-)

'When You Danced With Me' is fantastic so catchy and a strong Irish influence very different style for ABBA definitely the stand out song for me with 'I Can Be That Woman' the chorus melody of 'No Doubt About It' is identical to another song but cannot think which one it is and its bugging me I have heard that melody before at first I thought it was from a Gemini song 'I Am The Universe' but cannot remember.

'When You Danced With Me' also sounds like a Christmas song that could do very well.

Thanks, bennybjorn, for posting the link to to that review. Though rather a disappointing opinion on the album, it certainly didn't read, to me, like a deliberate put-down job for its own sake: he likes four of the songs, three of which we've heard, but he thinks the other six songs are not very good - schlock, even. Ouch! Of course, he's entitled to his views; I just hope I disagree with him about those six songs when I hear the album.

My location is in Lancashire, England. I ordered the eco box set and got an email last night saying it had been posted out first class. I honestly expected it to arrive on the Friday, very surprised i got it so quick. My personal highlights of the album are... When You Danced With Me Little Things Ode to Freedom No Doubt About It. Vocally a lot of the tracks remind me of the vocals on The Visitors, it is as though they have carried on from where they left off in 1981. It is a long time to wait for a new album by one of your childhood favourite pop group. After listening to Voyage, I can honestly say it has been worth it. ABBA have indeed done their best with this album despite their ages.

Who really cares ^^^^ Sydney Review.....
Of course us, the die hard fans should "like" at the very least most of the tracks and love the rest... The fan reviews that I've read are of course favorable and rightly so. That said if there was a duff track, I'm sure someone would have said a 3/10 track. So the fact that most are positive, I'm really looking forward to my first few listens..

Keep the faith. Its one reviewer in Sydney. As I have grown, I have realised that the only opinion that matters is my own. A reviewer will not put me off buying a book or album.

I slightly regret posting the review as I don't wanna kill the vibe! Here's a more upbeat review from another poster on Pop Justice. 'Little Things sounds gorgeous Keep An Eye On Dan sounds really fun and energetic Bumblebee was giving me shades of I Still Have Faith In You No Doubt About It is a f***ing BANGER Ode To Freedom sounds epic, huge, orchestral, sweeping and majestic and I think I'll weep'.

I really am blown away by the album. After just a few listens it already sounds like a hits compilation. So well sequenced, perfect ratio of slow, midtempo and upbeat songs, classic production sound and flourishes, and most importantly of all…wonderful melodies and gorgeous vocals.
