A pre-warning for those that ordered from the official store…
Someone on PopJustice reported receiving their order, and all four variants in it were damaged.
I’ve just received mine and similar. A crush on the top left corner of the vinyl cover, as well as a rip in the top seam of the cover on the side with the vinyl in. Not all the way through, but in the artwork. I am tempted to send it back unopened and ask for a refund.
However, the deluxe CD box looks undamaged. I haven’t taken the cellophane off yet, so can’t be absolutely certain. The vinyl cover damage is obvious through the cellophane.
Sorry, but this is a luxury item. If they can’t deliver in perfect condition, it’s not worth keeping.

My overall take by now. ISHFIY – first I heard it with tears in my eyes, though I don’t know why since I’m not that fan who had been dreaming about their new album for years, I was (and am) just happy ABBA existed and gifted us with so beautiful music. So it is just the power of the song. WYDWM – nice, but I’m not fond of country/folk tunes, not my thing. I guess it might work as a single only if ABBA is mostly targeted at the UK market. LT and BB – lovely songs, BB is very touching. DSMD and JAN are great, I like them very much. Strange, but JAN is more of a Christmas song to me than LT. I can see the mall decorated green and red with crowds shopping and JAN playing in the background. ICBTW is one of my favorites. I’ve already commented on it, same feelings. Impressive and constantly playing in my head. KAYOD – classy, going to be another earworm. SOS at the end makes me think this is a sequel of that '75 story. NDAI – whoa! That’s the song that surprised me most, I didn’t expect such a speed! The least viewed one on youtube, but sooo dynamic. And! It is here when I can feel how ‘undercover’ campaign does work! I can see only young Frida singing like that. Awesome. OTF – at first listen sounded like a mess, but now I like it, there is something hypnotizing about it, and… after the above song I can’t stop singing the line as ‘Ode to Frida’ The only weak point of the album for me is all those ‘bows‘ and déjà vu moments like DSMD vs. Felicita, ICBTW vs. Listen To Your Heart, SOS, Tchaikovsky, etc. BUT. Taking into account the huge amount of music written by now I think we can hardly judge by this indication. Idk whether it is a total music crisis or not, but when hearing almost each new song I can actually say, ‘I’ve heard it somewhere’. Samples won over the music world. Speaking globally, I can’t say if any of the 10 will shake the Gold. Say, in 40 more years lol. ABBA Gold tracklist is not perfect imho anyways, I would easily change IHAD for Eagle without hesitation. So time will show.

Well, after paying nearly £100 for the vinyl bundle, if mine arrives damaged then it's going back. I expect they would make us pay return postage though. Let us know what you think of the CD box when you've opened it.

Not being pedantic am I? I don’t find this acceptable, but some might be OK with it. They’d better not expect me to pay for returning it! The automated email response states: “We are currently experiencing high email volumes and will endeavour to reply to you as soon as possible. We would like to apologise in advance for any delay in our response” The “high email volumes” are hardly surprising if they’re sending them out damaged. gamleman, you mentioned some reservations about the green vinyl? Similar here. I’m therefore not exactly devastated that it’s arrived damaged. When I contacted them, I stated that, as it appeared to be sold out, I was seeking a refund. If they honour this, I then have the money to spend on the blue or orange… I checked the cardboard packaging it came in. It’s adequate enough and I don’t think would have caused a crush in transit (there’s certainly no evidence of it) so they must have sent them out damaged. The error is on their part, not the postal service.

Me too, and that’s why I bought the yellow vinyl that way, but the green, white and orange variants can’t be bought in a shop. And you’d need an independent shop near to be able to get the blue.

That's not unreasonable at all, Alan. If you weren't fussed about shrinkwrap, you could suggest that they simply send you a new sleeve? My worry is that they'd say they don't have the stock of coloured vinyl to replace it.

My worry is that they'd say they don't have the stock of coloured vinyl to replace it. I suppose that’s an option. I kind of want to open it so I can check the inner sleeve. I remember when I ordered Agnetha’s A album from the official store, it arrived with a ripped edge on the inner sleeve. I sent it back two or three times before I got a decent one (I think that was 180g vinyl though, so was just too thick and heavy for the inner sleeve to take). The cellophane wrap was so tight it had already given the sleeve ring wear. I’ve already emailed my local independent record shop to see if they have the blue, but they don’t stock it. If I do buy that, it will be on inspection only! The yellow I bought from HMV was fine.

I set my 'puter to translate French to English when I was shopping in Amazon.fr - it even translated the album title!

Items should arrive undamaged and extra care should be taken in the shipment of cardboard vinyl sleeves. I ordered the orange vinyl from Amazon FR and the yellow vinyl from FNAC FR. Luckily both arrived in impeccable condition.

Not sure about my rankings. But I will agree with you that VOYAGE IS BETTER THAN ARRIVAL.True, nothing on Voyage is as good as Dancing Queen or Knowing Me Knowing You. But outside those songs and Money Money Money and My Love My Life the rest of that album is just toe-curling cringe. Childish lyrics in the extreme. I prefer 'That's Me' to 'Dancing Queen', tehee) No doubt there are a rare few Queen fans for whom Bohemian Rhapsody is not a big favourite, well so it is for one or two of us ABBA fans regarding Dancing Queen. I recognise it's qualities, but there are lots of songs on Arrival I'd rather listen to. Generally, if the tune appeals to me, I can occasionally kind of ignore what I regard as naff lyrics, so Dum Dum Diddle, at least melodically, is a big favourite of mine. It will take a bit of time before I can place Voyage in relation to their other albums, but as of now, after several listens, I think I prefer it to Super Trouper, for example. But a lot of these assessments depend on my mood of the moment!

Currently, these are ABBA's 10 most popular songs streaming on Spotify:
1. Dancing Queen 2. Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight) 3. Don't Shut Me Down 4. Mamma Mia 5. Chiquitita 6. The Winner Takes it All
7. Waterloo 8. I Still Have Faith in You 9. When You Danced With Me 10. Take a Chance On Me

There's an official Spotify playlist with more than a million likes that may be quite influential on that ranking. It's frontloaded with 8 of Voyage's ten tracks - NDAI and OTF are omitted (incidentally, my two most streamed tracks right now. They're very addictive.)

For those who don't know this excellent YouTube channel: here's a very thoughtful and insightful review of Voyage. F.e. I didn't know that the end melody of Little Things came from a ringtone, composed and released by Benny in 2005.

Yes, that ringtone was mentioned by Tony/Hometime earlier. Benny's Red Christmas tune.

Voyage is more consistent though as you say needs time to get into it. The frustrating thing about ABBA's earlier albums is the fact that they have classic, iconic tracks sandwiched in between fun but schlocky fluff (I'm looking at you, "That's Me"). I do believe that DSMD is "Gold"-tier excellent. But even if the other tracks on "Voyage" fall a bit short of that mark, it is one of the most consistently strong albums of their career. Every track on "Voyage" is an earworm and stands on its own.

Yep. There was a report of a review that 4 Voyage tracks could post it onto Gold.
But only if you extend the playlist.
Sticking to 80 minute format I would only expect Don't Shut Me Down. In my view at expense of Voulez Vous.
I Still Have Faith in You Keep an Eye on Dan When I Danced With You Do Doubt About It
could all make it to More Gold re-vamp. Other changes too. MORE GOLD had a crap tracking order!

My vinyl bundle has arrived from the ABBA Voyage Store and seems OK, although I've only opened the green vinyl. My only gripe with it is a slight rip down one edge of the inner-sleeve - this kind of issue often results in bits of paper getting onto the record surface, so I have accommodated the record in a new plastic-lined inner-sleeve. I actually quite like the green in the end, as it's more of a teal green than a vivid green. However, I am seeing more problems with the Voyage vinyl posted on Facebook. Alan, I have sent you a PM with a couple of suggestions regarding your vinyl issues.

Yep. There was a report of a review that 4 Voyage tracks could post it onto Gold. But only if you extend the playlist. Both Gold and More Gold are at the maximum CD length of 80 minutes (the format they were created for). I don’t think you can remove tracks from an album (and add others) and still give it the same name and artwork, as it effectively becomes a different compilation. Unless I’m wrong on that? As Gold is mainly concerned with UK top 10 hits (with just Summer Night City giving way to Thank You For The Music), there’s only really Don’t Shut Me Down that would be allowed in. The 1992 version of Gold is shorter (thanks to edits of The Name of The Game and Voulez-Vous). If they reinstated those edits and edited another track, there might be room for Don’t Shut Me Down to be added at the end. Personally though, I think both albums should remain untouched. A new compilation, possibly, but not revisions of old ones.

However, I am seeing more problems with the Voyage vinyl posted on Facebook. I’ve not seen that, as I came out of the so-called official fan group. It is a widespread problem then, the official store not really caring what they send out?

I was only referring to a review and posted on here about tracks appearing on Gold/More Gold.
In that light I made my comments. It's all "if" I do think DSMD is worthy of Gold status. I do understand people thinking that tracklist is unchanged.
Personally, I think track list for More Gold is far from satisfactory. Maybe that albumn could be re-vamped as Gold 2. It is not iconic like Gold.

My main issue has been warps but I've seen images in the Facebook group of marked and scuffed record surfaces. Of course, there will always be some faulty records and in the age of the Internet these can be displayed for everyone to see, but judging by my own experience I have a feeling that this release has more than its fair share of faults.

Yesterday 'Voyage' sold 13,121 copies, in the UK. So, in the Wednesday Mid Weeks, it has reached a Total of 181,712 Sales. The 50,000+ copies, that it sold on Monday, were clearly, (mostly), 'Late Orders', being sent out. Rather than 'Casual Buys', in Stores. It needs, just over 18,000 further UK Sales, to reach 200,000, in Friday's Chart. There are still Wednesday's, and Thursday's Sales, to add in. ABBA Voyage and Adele 30 will be the two consistently high selling CD's in the run up to Christmas. Both are more suitable for gifts than perhaps any of the other releases. Ed Sheeran is possibly more niche to people of a certain age. Plus, if there is a Christmas lockdown (heaven forbid) CD's are easy (and cheap) to post considering they would go as Large Letters rather than parcels. So, I don't think Voyage will disappear off the charts this side of Christmas.

Frida's interview with Zoe Ball on BBC Radio 2 was just fabulous. She is so warm so articulate and chatty, so utterly adorable. Hearing her talk about her bond with Agnetha, praising her storytelling singing and referring to her as her little sister... it was quite emotional. And she seems so unaffected and normal. If only this had been a video interview!
Her "never say never" to new music was very telling. It felt like she was dropping a heavy hint, to be honest. And if Benny has already said much the same thing...? Have we entered a parallel universe?!

Now what are the odds of those two unfinished tracks being finished !!!!!
That Deluxe version is looking more promising in May........
Hey! we may even get JLT...lol....

Yes, it was a beautiful interview. I’m even more convinced that Benny said what he said in haste, without consulting the others. Even Björn’s quiet “Yeah” response to him was very telling.
Even if we don’t get another full album, I do think there’s a chance of a deluxe edition with perhaps about four additional tracks? They could even match it to the other deluxe editions by having a similar digipac format and a DVD of the live stream and a few other interviews.

Listening to Voyage I keep hearing Bjorn saying in The Story Of ABBA in 1982 where he says “one more album, and by our standards and the audience’s standards, will be the best one.”
