^^ agree Gamelman.... However I do think that ABBA " Gold " was one of the first to use that title, so initially it was novel, now every act major or minor seem to use it, as its better ! than Best Of ... So leave it alone and let it run its course, its doing very well thankyou..
Yes there's going to be a number of compilations in the future, I doubt Ill be buying any of them, as like most of us have every track over and over again, even though I'm not technical, I'm sure we can make our own compilations...Ill get there... eventually...lol
It will be a while yet, until the next "Album ", possibly 50th Anniversary, time, I expect someone is working on it as we speak, but first Voyage has to run its course and whether we get a deluxe who knows, personally I think we will with those two added tracks, and possibly more ? Don't think we'll get another full album.
So alas there will be more variations on a theme to come and as long as the public buy there will be compilations.. !!!

I think the new songs would sit well besides all the classics and album tracks that we know and love. I'm not against mixing new and old songs on one compilation. And I suppose it's inevitable this will happen sooner or later. What I meant was that it didn't make sense to include more or less the whole Voyage album together with a hotchpotch of often (I'm sorry) sub-standard tracks and effectively omitting all big hits. Adam's tracklist is maybe interesting for a hard-core fan but not for a casual buyer. And even the hard-cores would oppose inclusion of certain tracks and would like to replace them with their own favourites - all of us could compile a double CD of his or her dreams

We would need a worldwide survey. It might be an interesting fan project with the results presented to the record company. The survey would need a dedicated website or could it be conducted via this site? Every song ABBA have ever released would be listed, possibly in terms of album era. Does anyone here have the know-how and interest?

I hope I haven't opened up a can of worms with " Gold " and " More Gold ". It is an iconic compilation album and I love it. Please feel free to shoot me but I love ABBA compilations. I am a random person and my preference stems from my nature. Actually I don't listen to ABBA's studio albums very often. I feel more comfortable with the compilation albums. Although " Voyage " is one that I have on constant spin at the moment. This may upset other fans but I was never too keen on the " More Gold " tracklist. It was a bit of a disappointment to be honest. So many hidden album gems were criminally omitted including HNY, STMF, IIWFTN, IBWFY, KOF to name but a few.

Exciting to read in music week polydor are planning yet another single from voyage in early 2022! Great news - thanks for passing on. Means Little Things won't be their last ever single! No Doubt About It seems the obvious choice for me. If it was A-listed by R2 and January album sales were low, it could see Voyage reclaim the top spot!

Exciting to read in music week polydor are planning yet another single from voyage in early 2022! I didn't realise Music Week was still going. I assume it's online nowadays. I would hazard a guess at "When You Danced With Me" - not only was it the most popular non-single track from the album chart-wise, it is also the only track remaining on Side A that hasn't been a single. "No Doubt About It" would be my second choice. The other tracks, in my opinion, are not suitable as singles, although they are great album tracks. Let's hope they do something more imaginative this time. If it's WYDWM, an extended version would be nice. And a B-side, preferably a new song, would be ideal.

It mentions "another single from the album to radio", which might mean a radio single only and no physical editions.

It could be, but in essence then it's not a single...

Well that was an interesting article, showing a little insight....
Another single... soon all tracks will be a single ..lol...(Technically they can all chart ) but if WYDWM , could be a good hit as January is generally a weak time for charts ( not taking away from the track ) so as usual we will see, hopefully they have something up their sleeves and add a little something...perhaps a ABBATAR video ?
Just back from my local HMV in Brighton and they had about 8 LT for sale. £3.99, I was sorely tempted but resisted as not really getting else....Alas those obsessive collecting days are gone.... so there seems to be CDs to still buy.. have they pressed more....?

I think ISHFIY and DSMD could go on GOLD as replacenents for IHAD and VV
More likely a re-vamped More Gold. Gold 2?
The 4 Voyage singles to replace The Way Old Friends Do Cassandra Lovelight I am the City
I would like to see I Wonder removed but Benny + Bjorn like that.
And Slipping Through My Fingers instead of The Visitors

Music Week is actually still a physical magazine. You can pick it up in quite a few WHSmiths. It's nicely laid out these days - keep meaning to buy but yet to do so!

I really want to see 'When You Danced With Me' get released as a single its so incredibly catchy and its classic ABBA I also wouldn't mind seeing 'I Can Be That Woman' as a single as well its a fantastic song.
These are the singles going back to the classic style if they had a B-Side
I Still Have Faith In You/Ode To Freedom Don't Shut Me Down/Bumblebee Just A Notion/I Let The Music Speak Little Things/Happy New Year When You Danced With Me/Keep An Eye On Dan (Double A Side) I Can Be That Woman/No Doubt About It
I really like 'I Can Be That Woman', 'When You Danced With Me' & 'Bumblebee' were the titles that jumped out at me when I saw the tracklist and I also really like 'No Doubt About It' and 'Keep An Eye On Dan'.
The one song that still needs to grow on me is 'Ode To Freedom' I do like it but it didn't hit me like the other songs did its perfect as an album closer and as a B-Side.

Adam, I also love ICBTW, WYDWM and BB ( these tracks have really grown on me after every spin ).KAEOD and NDAI are the album's " dark horses " as they are such catchy earworms. I adore the three singles. LT am fond of too. OTF is a theatrical pop masterpiece. Like you OTF didn't grab me after the first listen but the more I play it the more I love it. ABBA can do no wrong !

I really like 'Don't Shut Me Down', 'Little Things', 'Just A Notion' and 'I Still Have Faith In You' all the songs are brilliant but its going to take a few more listens of 'Ode To Freedom' before it hits me I do like it though.

foreverfan, Shake a tail feather to this! I like it, but then I love dance mixes. I wish whoever did it hadn't slowed down Agnetha's vocals, however. But there's potential there.

It seems a quite a few on this forum don't go much on I Wonder and would reject it from compilations. But I'm with Benny and Bjorn (and I don't always agree with them): it's a great melody, with a 'proper' orchestral arrangement, and marvellously sung by Frida. Just to confirm that I'm in the likely minority who actually like the track!
I'm not a collector, so putting ISHFIY and DSMD on Gold instead of poor old IHAD and Another, holds no interest for me. For the casual buyer, then yes.

I love I Wonder too. I think it's a beautifully mature piece. I've said it before, but I think it's a gorgeous coming-out anthem waiting to happen.

Joseph..
Thanks for posting the " Dance Mix" of KAEOD... pretty good. I always listen to these remixes whatever you like to call them really, in a different context to the originals, very very few are better, Ironically Little Things ( Matt Pop )is one of them.. a really good effort...
I just like the different versions , its like the alternative to what B&B did and had kept back....also its probably because. I'm an old disco bopper !!
Now that all said and rumour mill in full blast on next single in January.. could it be a brave choice to pick "Dan " .... I always said they should have been brave with The Visitors.. but hey...

Just to confirm that I'm in the likely minority who actually like the track! I do like "I Wonder". It has a lovely arrangement and is well sung (except from the pronunciation of 'coward'). But for me, it lacks the ABBA vocal sound and a strong melody. My irritation with it is that it pops up on ABBA compilations when there are better, more attractive songs in ABBA's repertoire. I just don't know how it made the "Greatest Hits Vol. 2" album while "Voulez-vous", which had been an actual single, was left off.

Well, it's our old friend, personal taste, not objective fact. I Wonder has a strong melody and is an attractive song - though obviously not for you and, no doubt, not for many others.

I think ISHFIY and DSMD could go on GOLD as replacenents for IHAD and VV Hardly... IHAD a No.2 UK hit and Voulez-Vous No.3. The most obvious track to replace would be Thank You For The Music. But I don't think it is a good idea to tamper with the tracklisting of Gold.

I don't understand why Michael Tretow is ashamed of the recording... It shows that ABBA were actually very good on stage. The only overdub that was added in the studio is Benny's piano solo and it still sounds great.

Any thoughts on why No Doubt About It doesn't seem to be getting as many views on You Tube as all the other songs on Voyage? I love it!
I Wonder - always loved this song!

No Doubt About It....
Cant put my finger on why its not as popular as it should be... Its not a skip, but.. Possibly hard to sing -a- long with, complicated and fast...
