Here are several YouTube Trailers for 'Mamma Mia! 2', ('Here We Go Again). www.youtube.com/results?search_query=mamma+mia+2+trailer(The woman who gives her 'reaction' to the Trailer has a most annoying way of saying 'ABBA'). A lot of Fans are complaining that it looks like Meryl Streep is not in the 2nd Film. That she has been 'killed off ' & that only her younger self will be featured. However - apparently - there are many 'clues' that Meryl Streep is in Film 2. As can be seen in these Links. goo.gl/SCT1WpOthers are complaining that Cher has 'stolen' her 'look', (in the Film), from Lady GaGa. But Madonna first used that 'look' in the Video for 'Me Against The Music', her 2003 'Duet' with Britney Spears. There are also complaints that the 2nd Film has the 'Same ABBA Songs', as the 1st Film! This complaint is by very silly people, who only know a few ABBA Songs & they think that there are no 'fresh' ones in Film 2, just because none are in the Trailer for it. Instead, Universal have made sure that the 'fresh' ABBA Songs are left out of the Trailer for 'Mamma Mia! 2', and it only features 'I Have a Dream', 'Dancing Queen' and 'Mamma Mia'. So, some Fans are calling Film 2 an unimaginative 'Rip Off', & they think that all the ABBA Songs in it were in Film 1! (The fact is that there are many 'fresh' ABBA Songs in Film 2 - including 'Fernando', 'Knowing Me, Knowing You', Angel Eyes', 'When I Kissed The Teacher', 'I Wonder (Departure)', ' Why Did It Have To Be Me', & 'I've Been Waiting For You'. I also hear that 'The Name Of The Game' is in Film 2, as it was cut from Film 1).

Ok , love it or hate it, that's your choice, I tend to love it for perhaps different reasons, we can guess the film itself, will not be oscar winning..lol... that said the clips show , that it follows MM, fairly closely, in that it appears to be fun, happy, light hearted, bubblegum, but above all it does show off the music, which can only be a good thing, so be prepared for a bumper ABBA summer, it will be 10 years ago all over again, I can't see it being a flop, at the moment here in the UK we need a film like this to make us smile again. Im looking forward to it, and all the fun and smiles it will bring...

Universal have just released the 2nd trailer for 'Mamma Mia! 2'. As with the 1st Trailer, they are trying to make the viewers think that Donna, (Meryl Streep), is dead in the Film. This has created a big fuss - among Fans of the 1st Film. Many are saying that Film 2 is 'ruined' if Donna/Meryl is dead in it. Some say that they will 'boycott' Film 2, if Donna/Meryl has been killed off. I suspect that Donna/Meryl is in Film 2 & that Universal are trying to make out that she is dead in order to stir up hype, fuss & - most of all - publicity. As Film 2 is both a Prequel & Sequel to Film 1, the younger Donna - Lily James - is in the Prequel scenes. It is whether Donna/Meryl is in the Sequel scenes, that is causing a fuss. Someone has pointed out, that as Meryl is mentioned in the Cast of Film 2, she cannot be dead in it. That is not a certain thing. They could just show her in 'Flashbacks' from Film 1. Personally, I think that it is a all a publicity stunt & that Meryl Streep is in Film 2 - with brand new scenes - & not in 'Flashback' scenes from Film 1. THE 1st & 2nd 'MAMMA MIA! 2' TRAILERS TOGETHER - STARTING WITH THE 2nd ONEAs you can hear, 'Angel Eyes' is in the 2nd Trailer. It is the only ABBA Song - so far - that was not in Film 1. You can also hear, that while the harmonies & music sound fine, they've got someone who cannot sing doing the vocals. It does not mean that they do all of the vocals, but there is no way that, that person can sing. (It sounds like Julie Walters to me. She murdered 'Take A Chance On Me' in Film 1). A 'New' Trailer for 'Mamma Mia! 2', which was shown during the Grammy Awards, in the USA, on Sunday 28th January.
You see part of Cher's performance of 'Fernando'.
I find it amusing, how a lot of people who dislike ABBA & who hated the 1st 'Mamma Mia!' Film, are saying that the 2nd Film is going to flop/bomb - just because they dislike it!
Just as in 2008, people were insisting that the 1st Film would flop, because it was 'crap' & ABBA are 'rubbish'. It ended up becoming the biggest ever Film in the UK, selling endless Millions on DVD & CD & getting 'ABBA Gold' to No.1 - for the 5th time - in the UK. (In November 2008, the DVD of the Film was released and it sold almost 1,670,000 in one day, in the UK!!!).
So, people who dislike the 2nd Film, & who dislike ABBA, will have Zero say in whether it is a success! Just as was the case with the 1st 'Mamma Mia!' Film. (I'm not a Fan of either Film, but I'm not so silly, as to say they would 'bomb' & 'flop', just because I'm not keen on them!).

That albeit very brief snippet of Cher singing Fernando, looks as if it could actually be very good, really looking forward to hearing what she sings, very distinctive voice...
seems whether your a lover lover or hater , it looks like the summer film of 2018....

I do wish that the trailers weren’t full of Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia and Waterloo. It does give the (false) impression that the second film has the same songs as the first.

Gary - I think that they only feature 1 'fresh' ABBA Song in each Trailer, to 'tease' the viewers, as to which 'New' Songs will be included in Film 2.
I too wish that they would not do it, as a great many people only know about 30 to 35 ABBA Songs & it makes them think that there are no decent ones left - so Film 2 will just use the same Songs as Film 1 - but in a different order!
I actually saw that claim being made on a Gay Entertainment Site, last Week.
Of course, those people will get a huge shock, when they see Film 2 & hear lots of ABBA Songs that they never even knew existed before. (It should be a lesson to those people who think that ABBA were only good for 'ABBA Gold' & about 50% of 'More ABBA Gold', & that the rest of their Songs were no good).
So far, it looks like 4 ABBA Songs from Film 1 will also be in Film 2 - 'Waterloo', 'Mamma Mia', 'Dancing Queen' & 'I Have A Dream'. I've heard that 'Thank You For The Music' may feature too - in full or in part.
Universal want the CD Soundtrack to sell Millions & it will not do so if too many Songs from the 1st Soundtrack are included. The 2008 Soundtrack sold over 1,500,000 in the UK, over 1,800,000 in the USA & well over 5,000,000 Globally. The 2nd Soundtrack has to feature mainly 'fresh' ABBA Songs, if it is to sell as well as the 1st. After all - many of the same Fans, who bought the 1st Soundtrack, will also buy the 2nd one - but not if the 2nd one repeats too many Songs from the 2008 Film.
There is no need for too much repetition. ABBA have plenty of good Songs that were not in the 1st Film.
I wish that Universal would put more bits of the 'fresh' ABBA Songs in the Trailers, as - at present - the Trailers make it look like Film 2 has mainly Film 1 ABBA Songs in it. Apart from 'Fernando' and 'Angel Eyes'! The Trailers are making the ABBA Music, in Film 2, look as if ABBA had very little left, - to add to the 2nd Soundtrack! Of course, that is just wrong. I do wish that the Trailers would start using bits of 3 or 4 'New' ABBA Songs.

It must have been a big hit there, since ABBA were immensely popular there.

I will probably actually go to see this out of curiosity although I'm not a fan of the first film or the butchered songs. I'm happy that Angeleyes will get some appreciation and also When I Kissed The Teacher, two of my absolute favourites... I'm just sad that it isn't the original vocalists featuring on them!
I have a feeling this sequel/prequel will be marginally better than the first. How I wish the first film had a better story line and they didn't all whoop and clap and guffaw like idiots all the way through. Yes, ABBA's music was often happy and uplifting but it wasn't inane. Oh, well. If it gets even a few more people to check out the ORIGINAL SONGS then I'll be happy about that.
I t will be interesting to see how successful this film will be. It may even surpass the original. Looking at the bigger picture, I CAN actually understand why people rave about the Mamma Mia! franchise. The world is a terrible, depressing place, particularly right now with hate and terror constantly in the headlines. People crave a bit of escapism.

Zeebee - ABBA Gold has climbed into the Australian Top 5 on several occasions. It was No.1, for 4 Weeks, in 1992. Then it reached No.3 in 1994. Then No.2 in 1999. In 2008 the 1st 'Mamma Mia!' Film caused 'Gold' to re-enter at No.4, where it stayed for 4 Weeks.
It is 17 times Platinum, in both Australia & the UK. However, Platinum is 'only' 70,000 in Australia, so it is Certified for 1,190,000 Sales there. In the UK, Platinum is 300,000, for an Album, so it is Certified for 5,100,000 Sales here. (Although it has sold over 5,400,000, in the UK, so it is really entitled to an 18th Platinum Award).
Oddly, in Sweden, the 2008 'Mamma Mia!' Film did not have a big impact on 'Gold' & it got no higher than No.22 that Year. It was the 2008 9 CD 'Set' of 'The Albums' that the Film affected. It was a No.4 Hit, in Sweden, and it spent 18 Weeks in the Charts there.
Universal did not re-promote 'More ABBA Gold' in 2008, so it did not do very well, despite the 'Mamma Mia!' Film. For instance - No.38 in Australia, (its first Chart Entry there), No.56 in Sweden & No.63 in the UK.
I do hope that Universal come up with a plan to sell an ABBA Compilation via Film 2. 'ABBA Gold' will not be a very good 'match'/'fit', at all. Nor will 'More ABBA Gold'. A more appropriate selection is needed.

Zeebee - Sorry for misunderstanding your question.
I cannot find out how many DVD copies the 1st 'Mamma Mia!' Film sold in Australia.
However, it was Australia's Best Selling DVD for 2008 & the 8th Best Seller for 2009.
In the UK, it not only sold 1,668,000 in one day, (November 2008), but it sold over 3,000,000 UK copies by the end of that Week. By January 2009 it had reached over 5,000,000 UK Sales. It was the first Entertainment Disk to pass 5,000,000 in the UK. No Single or Album had reached 5 Million, at that stage. Since January 2009, 'Greatest Hits' by Queen has managed it, as have 'ABBA Gold' & 'Sergeant Pepper' by The Beatles. Adele's '21' may also have reached 5 Million Sales, in the UK.
in the current Decade only 'Frozen', (2013), has reached even 4 Million UK DVD Sales. It has sold about 4,300,000 to 4,350,000 in the UK.
I show all of these Sales statistics, as I see several people, (around The Internet), assuring everyone - who will listen - that 'Mamma Mia 2' has Zero chance to be a Hit.
I've read predictions that it, 'Will go straight to DVD'.
That, 'It will be a huge flop'.
That, 'All the best ABBA Songs were used in Film 1' & 'There is nothing left for Film 2'.
Plus, at least 3 people, who have done Articles about Film 2, who have assured readers that Film 2 is just going to repeat the ABBA Songs from Film 1! That 'Fernando' is about the only 'New' ABBA Song in it!
They are people who only know ABBA by 'ABBA Gold' & they think that makes them experts on ABBA's Songs!
Like the Female Journalist, who only has 'ABBA Gold'. She plays it a lot in her car. She's seen the Trailers for Film 2 & has assured readers that: 'It is obvious that the 2nd movie has exactly the same songs that were in the 1st movie'.
So, she makes a prediction like that, because she knows the 19 ABBA Songs on 'ABBA Gold'! Such people know hardly anything at all about any ABBA Tracks, except those on 'Gold'. They really are ignorant, infuriating & very silly. Yet, they write as if they are World 'Experts' about ABBA's Songs!!!
Such foolish 'Journalists' will get a big shock when they actually hear all the 'New' ABBA Songs in 'Mamma Mia 2'!
But, Universal really must put more bits of 'New' Songs in the Trailers, as they really are creating the idea that Film 2 is mainly just using the same old 'Mamma Mia' Songs, all over again. It is not wise to create such a distorted impression. It may put a lot of people off bothering to go to see Film 2.

So far, there have been 3 Trailers for 'Mamma Mia! 2'. The 1st one only featured Songs from the 1st Film. The 2nd one had just one 'fresh' ABBA Song in it - 'Angel Eyes'. The 3rd one also had one 'fresh' ABBA Song in it - 'Fernando'.
The fact that they have only featured 2 'fresh' ABBA Songs, out of 3 Trailers, has caused people who are not very intelligent & who are also very ignorant about ABBA, to think that most ABBA Songs were used in Film 1, that there are hardly any left. That Film 2 has no choice, but to feature mainly Songs from Film 1!
I really do not think that it is a good idea, to feature so few 'fresh' Songs, in the Trailers. They really must start using parts of 3 or 4 fresh ABBA Songs, in each future Trailer. It will get rid of the silly Myth, that Film 2 is using exactly the same Songs that were in Film 1.

Liking the list of songs so far. With it being a prequel and a sequel, it would be great for the film to finish on a high in the present. A party on New Year’s Eve, all friends assembled joining together to put differences aside to sing The way old friends do before midnight arrives and they launch into Happy New Year. Just a thought. It would be a nice feel good ending and no doubt would have ensured Christmas re runs for years to come and showcase the two songs for new year playlists too.

Although 'Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again' is being released in the USA etc. on Friday 20th July 2018, it will be released a day earlier, in at least 10 other Countries, & much later in Russia, Japan & Italy. Those 3 Countries have their own release Dates - all different to each other. I've no idea why those 3 Countries have unique - and very late - release Dates. The UK also has its own unique release Date - but not as late as Russia, Japan & Italy.

NOTE -- 'Mamma Mia! 2' was shown in many USA Cinemas on Thursday -- 19th July
The First US Box Office News:
"'Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again' has opened with a solid $3.4 million at 2,850 North American locations in Thursday night preview showings that began at 7 p.m.
That was enough for the musical to top Denzel Washington’s “The Equalizer 2,” which launched with $3.1 million at 2,934 sites in Thursday previews that began at 4 p.m. Thursday.
Universal’s follow-up to its 2008 musical “Mamma Mia!” is tracking for a three-day tally between $30 million and $36 million when it opens in over 3,317 venues. Its predecessor opened with $27 million on the same weekend a decade ago and finished with $145 million domestically and $615 million worldwide on a $52 million budget."

I've seen the film..... some spoilers, so don't read unless you want to know...
Brief synopsis...
Its not the same, that's not saying it wasn't fun because it was, it looses a little because of familiarity of MM1, we know the story, even though it's different if you know what I mean.
Tracks, Kisses Of Fire, alas is ruined in the film, only the first 30 seconds from the soundtrack, ' the man screaming' we don't get to hear any harmonies at all. Meryl s TDBYC is not in the film nor is I Wonder. Thank-you For The Music, personally a bad opener, its to surgery sweet these days in my opinion. Hasta Manana features but not on the soundtrack album, there's a instrumental I Like The Music Speak, I'm sure there are others but got lost on me...
The others, more well known tracks fit in nicely, even not everyone's favourite Why Did It Have To Be Me, works very well in context.
The plot was never going to be strong. Lily James is by far the star, she does a good job. Cher as stated is only on screen for about 10 minutes towards the end, and yes she does make a great statement . The second half of the film is better, but along the way there are some funny one liners especially from Tanya and Rosie, young and old... Fernando is actually good with the staging. Sophie does an amazing job with the dynamos with I've Been Waiting For You, but in my opinion it should've been an up tempo number.
The end is quite sad, with My Love My Life, again very well done, new lyrics and believe it or not quite moving, then theres the ending with Super Trouper, just to lighten the mood ... it works....
Overall it was Fun, in the cinema it was full and at the end people were singing and dancing..contagious
its going to make millions...😀😀😀

'Mamma Mia! 2' is a huge success. Bigger than was predicted by even the most optimistic Box Office Forecasts. The 'Experts' are now saying that the success - Film, CD's, DVD's etc. - will even last into the Autumn!
The way that many Critics were going on, I thought they'd put a curse on it! A famous USA Film Critic - Leonard Matlin - has predicted that it will have 'The staying power of 'Grease 2'. That 1982 Film cost nearly $12 Million to make and its Global takings were less than $16 Million. It went into the UK Weekly Film Chart at No.6 and it fell out of the Top 10 in Week 2. Obviously, Mr. Matlin's prediction is ridiculous for the 2nd 'Mamma Mia!' Film.
I watched the Merrell Twins version of 'Mamma Mia' several times last Week. It grows on you. I thought they were younger than they are. They are 21. They are Veronica Jo and Vanessa Jo.
The 2 Guys with them - Superfruit - are actually the 2 Gay Guys from the USA Acappella Group, Pentatonix - Scott Hoying, (Piano), and Mitch Grassi, (Guitar). Many people - including me - regard Pentatonix as as the best Acappella Group ever. Hopefully, Pentatonix will one day do an Album of ABBA Songs. They really do breathe new life into old Songs...
THE MERRELL TWINS + SUPERFRUIT -- MAMMA MIA -- (SPONSORED BY UNIVERSAL MUSIC)
This Video has brought 100's of 1000's of New Young Viewers to check out ABBA's original Video and the 2nd 'Mamma Mia!' Film itself. The Twins have a great many young Fans on You Tube. The Twins version is cute really. It isn't meant to beat ABBA's version. The Twins also sing it in very monotone voices. They don't have much expression in their vocal sounds. As you can see, the 2 Guys get into the dancing part, far, far more than Benny and Bjorn ever did in an ABBA Video!

THE CURRENT AND PREDICTED SUCCESS OF 'MAMMA MIA! 2'
Two-thirds of Mamma Mia 2‘s audience tonight is female, with the 25+ crowd also making up two-thirds. Definite recommend is high, near 70%, with great interest among younger females. Much like the first film, which posted a 5.2 multiple off its $27.7M opening for a $144.1m domestic result, this sequel is going to leg out greatly into the fall. Remember how well The Greatest Showman did during the cutthroat holiday environment of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Jumanji 2? That Hugh Jackman tuner ended its run at $174.3M stateside after being squashed by a ton of competition during its opening weekend, with a four-day of $14.4M.
Beams social media monitor RelishMix about the positive word of mouth for Mamma Mia 2: ” For a summer that’s light on musicals and fun comedy romps, this sequel has found its audience. Fans of the original film love that there’s a part two. They’re calling out their favorite characters – which is a diverse and evenly spread list – and the fact that pop icon Cher is added to the mix. Fans are also calling out the exotic and vacation-esque locale, the songs, and even (YouTube stars) the Merrell Twins as reason they’ve seen the clips and plan to go see it in theaters.”
Much like Universal did for Pitch Perfect 3 with YouTube personality Todrick Hall and his individual a cappella performance the week before that pic’s opening, here we have the Twins sharing a clip with their fans, which is a cover of one of the beloved songs. It’s earned over 200K views a day since its posting three days ago. Convo confirms that this tactic of offering one last fun bit of social fun the week of opening really works, as many fans, per RelishMix claim they watched the final trailer because of this particular clip:
(The Merrell Twins 'Mamma Mia' Video was inserted here)
Ever since the 2008 film grossed $609.8M WW off a $52M production, Universal was always kicking the tires at a sequel. The trick? Allowing part two to take its own sweet time in development and not rush it. While the breezy project looks feasible to put together, the creators always thought twice before attaching any ABBA song to a scene, so that the end result didn’t come off looking like a jukebox of hits crowbar-ed together on screen. Judy Craymer, the pic’s producer and creator of the London West End and Broadway musical, huddled with the rock group’s songmeisters Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, as well as the musical and movie’s scribe Catherine Johnson, plus Love Actually screenwriter Richard Curtis. Meryl Streep had already made her mark in the first chapter, and her limited involvement in the sequel here opened a door for the creators to mount a prequel centered around the younger self of her character Donna, portrayed here by Baby Driver‘s Lily James. Adding in Cher as Donna’s mother boosted the prequel’s volume to another level. Uni announced the project a little over a year ago in May 2017, with the original cast returning and a whole set of ABBA hits not previously used in the first film.
Uni debuted the first trailer online on December 20 and clocked 64M views, with the trailer being a worldwide trending topic on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. In addition, the trailer was attached to such pics as The Greatest Showman, Pitch Perfect 3, Fifty Shades Freed, and I Feel Pretty. Spots ran during such femme-demo series as the This Is Us finale, CW’s Riverdale, and targeted Broadway and music lovers during NBC’s Easter telecast of Jesus Christ Superstar Live and CBS’ Elton John: I’m Still Standing. The trailer also ran during the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics (74 Runs), and there was a custom spot on NBC during The Royal Wedding, further pumped by the first ever sing-along broadcast of Mamma Mia! (NBC July 14, E! July 19).
Advance tickets went on sale around Mother’s Day, and during the week leading up, Uni banged the drum with a number of stunts to spread the word, specifically a blitz of non-stop Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again hits. This tactic proved successful with media that delivered over 290M impressions and a social conversation that reached 420M global users. Highlights included sing-along screenings on Mother’s Day of the 2008 film in the top 25 markets, big theater chains’ advanced ticket loyalty programs sending out messages from the cast, and the second trailer debuting on Today on May 8 as part of its Mother’s Day festivities (69M+ views). There was also the debut of the “When I Kissed the Teacher” lyric video, which brought in more than 3.5M global views, with the track being offered as a bonus gift with Fandango advance ticket purchases.

Just got back from seeing the movie. I didn't like the first half at all (borderline dreadful) but the second half was vastly better and the last 15-20 minutes in particular works very well. Some of the songs took a real battering and either didn't quite fit or were TOO much of a cringe (e.g. WIKTT, Waterloo, OoU - and I wish KoF had either been done properly or stayed on the cutting-room floor), but others really took on an extra dimension in this context (e.g. IBWFY, MLML - not a dry eye in the house for those two - both are magnificent). I'm afraid I wasn't keen on Lily James (esp. her faux US accent) or the 'young' versions of Firth/Brosnan/Skarsgard. There are some decent gags sprinkled throughout and a few laugh out loud moments, but overall this movie is more disjointed and less coherent than the first one. I'd give the first half a charitable 4 out of 10 and the second half 8 out of 10.

I've not seen the Film, but I have seen Video of it - secretly taken in the Cinema.
Not the whole Film, but Clips from it of about 10 of the Songs.
Of course the Video footage is awful quality, but I could make out each Song.
I felt that 'I've Been Waiting For You' was very moving. As was 'My Love, My Life'. 'Super Trouper' was done better in this one, I think. The Cinema audience went crazy during that scene.
I liked the 'Dancing Queen' and 'Mamma Mia' scenes. The Critics like the 'Waterloo' scene. Hugh Skinner's singing does not bother them. They think that the scene is staged very well. I liked 'Fernando' - although Benny and Bjorn now say that Cher's version is better than ABBA's and 'She has made that song her own'. I can't agree. I think that ABBA did it better.
'Kisses Of Fire' was totally ruined. The Critics - who don't know the Song - now think that ABBA's original version was recorded in that way! They think it is awful. An Irish Critic said that it does not deserve to be regarded as one of ABBA's better Songs. So, Benny & Bjorn have achieved Zero by allowing the awful version to go into the Film. They clearly are not as wise as they think they are.
The 'Mamma Mia!' Films are really just 2nd Rate Soap Opera Plots to hang a lot of ABBA Songs on. It makes money, so that is why they were made. Benny and Bjorn seem to have no bigger vision for Films with ABBA Songs, than that. It is rather sad really. I think that the Film's look rather cheap in parts. Lots of Green Screen is used - to make us think that Croatia is Greece. Very cost cutting to be honest...

Just as an aside..
A pure guess from myself....
If MM2 was in the compilation chart, it may not reach number one due to Now That's What I Call Music 100 being released at the same time with a lot of hype, these series of compilations sell extremely well here in The UK.
Therefore is it ironic that MM2 is now in the main chart and will probably be number one this week ? But will it actually be the best selling album in the UK ?
Cher and Fernando still climbs in the ITunes chart to 37, but it's fate seems doomed if streaming doesn't happen, could the same fate await ABBA and the new singles.??

I am still puzzled by the charts now. So hypothetically a single could physically sell 1 million in a week but because of no streaming or very low streaming not enter the top 10? That would be bizarre . So in 1997 under the current system Candle in the Wind would not have been number one if there were low streaming figures despite tremendous physical sales ?

Checked the (UK) chart guidance. 150 streams equate to one physical sale . So for talking sake..... if a single sells 50 000 in one week, the streaming equivalent would be 50 000 x 150. That would equate to 7 500 000 streams . That’s a lot streaming.

Graham -- The ABBA Singles are to get heavily promoted Physical releases. They will sell very well on CD and Vinyl. The Cher Single is at a huge disadvantage. It has no Physical release, at all. She's having to rely on Downloads, (which are not great for her), and on Streaming, which is tiny for her. Hence why 'Fernando' cannot be a big Hit...
Also, it has happened many, many times that the Album at No.1 in the Compilation Chart is selling more than the No.1 Artist Album. The 2 Charts were split in Mid January 1989. The No.1 Artist Album is always counted as the UK's No.1 - even if that Week's No.1 Compilation has sold more.
If the 1st 'Mamma Mia!' Soundtrack had been allowed into the Artist Chart, in 2008, then 'ABBA Gold' would not have returned to No.1, for 2 Weeks. The Film Soundtrack would have held the ABBA CD at No.2. It was selling more copies than 'Gold'. The 1st Film Soundtrack would have been No.1 for 7 Weeks, had it been allowed into the Artist Chart, in 2008. It had to settle for 11 No.1 Weeks in the Compilation Chart and 36 No.1 Weeks in the Soundtrack Chart.
It is very likely that 'Now 100' will outsell the 'Mamma Mia! 2' Soundtrack, in the UK. It does not matter. The Soundtrack is in the Artist Chart - and that is really the only UK Album Chart that counts. It means nothing, how well 'Now 100' sells in the Compilation Chart...
