Okay, this might not be entirely plausible but here goes. Benny dropped a pretzel down his ski-boot and, as he leant over to retrieve it, the label of his jacket caught in Frida's ear-ring dragging her head down too thereby trapping his noggin between her and the table. In her panic and pain she has thrust her right boot through the leg supports of the table worsening the situation. Bjorn is in the process of a rescue bid. Agnetha meanwhile is thinking this is all very unseemly in a photo-shoot and is dying for a ciggie.

The only one I'm skipping at times is 'Rock Me' because I've never really liked it. There's a few though that are in serious danger of being worn out through repeat playing. IIWFTN, KMKY, MMM, GGG, SOS (Just love the finale where the girls go in tandem. Better arrangement than the studio version imo), Fernando, Eagle, WDIHTBM, SNC. Some have a problem with the instrumental inclusions on the albums and in concerts but I've always liked them. They somehow re-connect ABBA with their roots and the tradition of Scandinavian melancholy. Intermezzo was no doubt deliberately placed in between WDIHTBM and ISA so as to give both girls two consecutive performances to sit out for a breather in the second half of the set list.

To big to be Lord Charles, that's for sure. Judging by the props on the tables it's Tommy Cooper himself after getting to fresh with the girls.

I think Queen were either in the middle of or about to start a tour so it's safe to say they performed 'Killer Queen' on the same day. One thing's for sure that the Bay City Rollers were certainly on the same bill as ABBA. As you can see here they are dressed as choir boys so that would sort of suggest it was aired at Christmas. You can just about see ABBA faintly to the right. Edit : Just seen this image has been already posted above.

She certainly does things with a touch of class so I'm sure it'll be great, Roxy. The song of course celebrates the 150th anniversary of the Matterhorn's first ascent but I'm sure will also recognise that the attempt ended in tragedy with four of the climbing party killed. The Matterhorn is a stunning looking mountain towering over Zermatt but is treacherous too and claimed many lives over the years. This song is just a part of Zermatt's events in recognition of the anniversary. This was pretty spectacular...

Was sort of hoping that the new '1865' song wouldn't involve Dan Daniell but he has sung about the Matterhorn before. I wonder if this is something separate? Really like 'Lieber Gott' but he has a style that is erm, an acquired taste.

I also like the bit at 7m 22s and 7m 30s with the two lads at the end of the piano. One seems fascinated with Benny's playing whilst his older mate has his eyes firmly fixed on something entirely different......but I can't think what it could be.

I'm of the opinion that the EMI 1972 'Anni-Frid Lyngstad' album should be counted. Though it was made up of singles recorded between 1967 and 1972 those songs had not appeared on previous LP's so it's not really a 'compilation' album. Or is it? Anyway I wont list it so....
1. Ensam - There's seriously hardly anything I don't like about this. Yes, even 'Syrtaki' . Fun, ballsey, great songs throughout, ABBA's backing band cutting loose, Frida in top form. 'Ett Liv I Solen' with the volume cranked up is simply hair raising-ly awesome. One of those albums that are completed art-forms in themselves and didn't need bonus tracks tacked on the re-issues.
2. Djupa Andetag - What a comeback. By her own admission the passing years meant she could no longer reach her highest notes but what the hell, the precision, the power, the warmth was still there. Great melodies throughout. 'Vem Kommer Sara Vem Ikvall' followed by 'Sista Valsen Med Dig' is stunning.
3. Something's Going On - Well she wanted a departure from the ABBA sound and that was sure achieved. Phil Collins trademark 'gated' drumming permeates this album. A couple of songs don't work for me. Most though are excellent. Frida rocks it out with 'Tell Me It's Over' to the tearjerker 'You Know What I Mean'.
4. Shine - Got to say, keep re-listening to this album and it continues to grow on me. 'Come To Me (I Am Woman)' is a lovely song and 'Don't Do It' has a gorgeous acoustic guitar accompaniment. The title track and 'Slowly', a B & B composition are very good too.
5. Frida - One of them's gotta be last but I prefer to think 5th most liked. EMI with Benny producing finally got their act together and got Frida away from singing Oom-pah schlagers to branching out to songs that really showcased her voice. The beautifully pure sung 'Tre Kvart Fran Nu' sets the tone. The definitive 'Lycka' imo and 'Barnen Sover' follow.

I've just been reminded why I don't watch these sort of shows. Not the first dodgy act to somehow progress which just strengthens the feeling that it's all a con to get the public voting even more. Can only imagine the crowd cheering that are as tone deaf as the singers. Worse than awful.

Yes, As can be seen in the whole film, conditions in Bhutan were very basic. If I remember right they didn't even have television there till fairly recently. Anyway, here's a much shorter clip of Frida singing a Stig Anderson written comedy song.

This is a long video but is interesting to view even without subtitles. It features Frida and Ruzzo who along with others accompanied King Carl Gustav and Queen Silvia of Sweden on a trek through the Himalayas. The video title is a little wrong, it took place in 1993 and was in the isolated country of Bhutan. To save looking through it all Frida and Ruzzo appear sporadically throughout but the main moments. 1:00 Frida and Ruzzo followed by Queen Silvia on a ginger haired Yak........as you do , 11:20 In a mountain side hot-tub, 12:10 Pulse taken at high altitude, 14:30 Photographing the royal couple at a mountain top temple, 15:50 At a campsite, 23:00 The Queen and Frida arrive at a mountain pass on mules and Ruzzo hands out snacks. 31:15 Outside their tent and 41:50 Reaching their destination. The King and Queen also seem like good sports mucking in and it's sad that Ruzzo would be gone only a few years later.
