That showgirl dance routine at the end was probably a lot to ask of a pair of mainly non-dancing singers. Early videos of them performing it show a lot of unease, especially on Agnetha's part. By The Movie, though, they had it pretty much nailed. All the red and blond hair going this way and that way is also cute and fun to see.

Here's what mine looks like:
<li class="gthumb"> <a href="picture.php?/14794/category/124" id="img-14794" name="./galleries/Color/Young/Agnetha_000887.jpg" rel="colorbox0"> <img class="thumbnail" src="_data/i/galleries/Color/Young/Agnetha_000887-cu_s9999x200.jpg" alt="Agnetha 000887" title="Agnetha 000887 (20 visits)" width="131" height="200"> </a>
Not sure how to get what you got from that. Maybe my way isn't the right way.

I'm lost then. I have no idea how to get the image code once I click on it. I'm just getting a list of thumbnails.

Got it. I use Chrome, which is a little bit different. I went to MORE TOOLS and then VIEW SOURCE (you can also just do CTRL-U) and looked for the code of the image there. Hovering over the image with the moise pointer gives the image number so that it's easier to find. but Martin, Fafner and Erwin, you of course already know that. Only mine are coming up small, even when I change the % in BBC code www.diehardagnetha.com/gallery/index.php?/category/124

Martin, does your trick involve the paint program? If not, let me know. I'm curious too. Erwin, I wanted to say I really like the photo format on your website. I like the easy access of going from one photo to the next and then going back to the gallery. I would only post your photos here and credit your site each time.

Benny seems to enjoy looking the horse in the eye. Agnetha is either enthralled with a tall building or a very distinguished looking uniform.

As much as I loved the play I have never seen the original movie. The reason is that I don't feel a need to see huge stars playing the roles I became endeared to with regular stage actors. Plus, and this is probably more relevant, I'm not a huge fan of film musicals. Somehow the format doesn't come across as well on screen to me as it does on stage. It seems awkward when people in a movie suddenly begin singing. That being said, I'm wondering how they'd do this. It would be a whole new set of Abba songs I assume (any takers on guessing/suggesting which ones?) Would this wring out the Abba catalog a bit much? Wear it a bit thin? I think it may.

Wow! Thanks for that, eagle1. The house seems quite unassuming and blends in behind all the trees. But still not enough to keep Agnetha hidden. The first one is gorgeous, as you'd imagine.

I can't think of much to say about this one that's not obvious (such as how great she looks in a t-shirt in front of a house just relaxed being herself). Love this photo. The house seems a bit modest to be hers though.

Multi-threading again, eh, Martin? This one could fit in "Did You Know This About Abba?" as well as the quiz thread. I didn't know this myself about "If I Can't Have You". Interesting. Being on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack would have sky-rocketed them in the US. But personally I don't know if that song would have been right for them. I think their voices are a little to big for it. I can't wait to find out what the other Yvonne Elliman/Abba connection is. I like her also.

Interesting there is no Bjorn and Agnetha photo. Probably doesn't mean anything but just interesting. Where? Sorry, on the calendar.

You could call it Shoshin's quiet corner If they are all together and visible I don't think it will be so quiet. I really enjoyed the games section on the old forum and I think people would here. It would give us a lighthearted way to interact and have fun with our Abba knowledge.

Not really a fan of MM personally but you can see how this could be a winner. Seeing MM versions of ABBA songs have more views on Youtube than some of the originals seems just wrong on so many levels. As do some of the adjoining comments proclaiming these versions better. Like the monster they created has threatened to overshadow the band whose music was celebrated by it in the first place. ABBA famously struggled to crack America yet the MM movie soundtrack topped the charts there years later.
I have always found it interesting that the play Mamma Mia did so well here in the US when Abba struggled to make top ten hits here. My theory is the story and happiness that just goes with the show, which gives the songs new life with these new voices. The other, and this is something I'm not proud of, is that Americans embrace American entertainment and sometimes shun foreign entertainment. Even a British TV show has to have an American version to be a hit here. An Americanized version of Mamma Mia with American voices singing and great songs seems to equal a hit.

I love these. A young starlet in her absolute prime. Wonder if this is '76 or '77. I have a feeling it's '76.

I think the forum is pretty easy to navigate as it is so I'm ok with leaving it alone for the most part. I do have one suggestion though. There is a growing genre of posts for Abba related games and quizes like Abbachronisms, Abbagrams and Abbagaffes. Maybe we should have a separate board for that to make them easier to find?

I actually thought that was what was going to happen, Martin.
Personally, I can do without the "nice picture" comments. But that's just me. Hey, all the pictures are of Abba. We all like Abba. So they're all nice pictures. But I'm ok with a brief note of appreciation for posts. We don't always have all the time in the world. Just maybe a brief original thought to go with it? Why is it nice? Why do you like it? Make it worth the extra trip back to the thread when I see it's been updated.
Roxanne, I thank you for your contribution and for starting this forum originally. When I found out Abba4ever was closing I wondered where I would find a new community of Abba fans. I'm not a huge fan of Facebook. Its a bit intrusive for me. I discovered this forum after I'd joined the other new one already. I took to this one right away. I like the loose atmosphere and the free environment. It's like working at Google after leaving IBM.
Maybe we should have an entire "gallery" section divided up by Abba members, topics, and whatever else people want to post pictures of? Then another section for discussion? I think we're capable of being big on both.

This is a thread to continue the conversation started in "My Abba Collection", which became a fiesty and interesting dialogue about our member comments on this forum. That thread can be seen in the link below abbachat.com/thread/501/signed-abba-collectionMy take on the latest post is, Abbaman, I understand your frustration with not getting a response to your first collection video. If I put that much of myself out there I'd like a reaction too. But I'd go as far as to say the Your Collection section is probably not one that gets the higher amounts of traffic on the forum. And evenso, to hold back on commenting on anyone else because of this one thread being overlooked is truly not good for the forum. I've laid a few eggs on here ("Chess in Concert" for example). Doesn't make me want to comment any less when I see a great picture or see in interesting topic. A year ago we had a vibrant forum on abba4ever. Now many of us have migrated here and as much as I love it (see my posts on "My Abba Collection". I do love it here), it isn't the same. We're very picture heavy. That's fine. But way too light on original comments. The group disbanded decades ago. So what? In the year I was on A4E people still had plenty to say about them. Is it the group? Or is it us? We're all busy. We all have lives. Are we just not communicating because we don't have the same sense of community here?
