Yes I wish them both well, it's not easy living your life on your own, who ever you are so I hope it works out well for them both.

Please accept my sincere apologies if this is the wrong group, but I have just damaged my ABBA Voyage black still water aluminium bottle and would like to buy another. Can anyone please help?

Some might be interested to hear this.
I'm still amazed Frida and Agnetha still sound so good in their seventies. I hope they still do and if they do all get together as ABBA again and produce more music, then fantastic. If not, I'm ever mindful that they gave us this beauty.

Bjorn gone all “ Tron “ ( from Voyage)... Slicked back hair... she’s keeping him young... Yes, he looks amazing. Didn't he have a hair transplant at some point? Bjorn is the oldest ABBA member but, dare I say, looks the youngest. Well-dressed too.

As far as I can gather, her name is Christina Sas and she's 47. Apparently someone online asked if her name might be “Meryl Streisand”.😄 It’s too tempting not to think of Caroline Aherne’s Mrs Merton character and ask, “what attracted you to the multi-millionaire, Björn Ulvaeus?” Seriously though, happy for him. His kids are long grown-up and chances are his marriage was in trouble long before he met her. Yes, like Alan has said on here, they haven't got much time left together. But I personally find the age gap uncomfortable. To think she was only one year old when Dancing Queen was released. As for Bjorns children, his eldest daughter(from Agnetha) Linda will be 49 now. If Bjorn & Christina do decide to take things further and re-marry then Linda's new stepmother will be two years YOUNGER than Linda herself. strewth!!!

I dunno, but maybe if Ms. Sas was a teenager or 20something, there might be some basis for all this pearl-clutching. But she's middle aged. She's apparently successful and well-placed in a music industry profession. Can't it just be that two people who like each other met at the right time and place? With ex wives, children and grand-children to consider, I assume that Bjorn's wealth is very carefully ring-fenced. What his children and former wives think of his new relationship is their business. Who knows: maybe they're happy for him. I saw some fans commenting under a photo on Facebook: "Bjorn I'm so ashamed of you" and the like. There even seems to be a cohort that feels he was somehow duty bound to get back with Agnetha!! And that's before we get to the gross sexism aimed at Christina. Her looks and motives are so blithely and bitchily dissected that the commentariat make Joan Rivers look like the Dali Llama. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Christina one day wakes up and says, "ya know something, Bjorn? Life's too short for this misery. I'm off." And who could blame her?

There's a behind-the-scenes documentary on ABBA's 1980 concert tour of Japan I'd not seen before. Well worth a look, as it features some candid scenes of the ABBA members going about their busy pop-star day in that inimitable Swedish way: with humility and without pretention.
It's all in Japanese, but it's still good to see.

That documentary is also on the bonus disc of the ABBA in Japan DVD. Interesting indeed because we get to see live footage from the Japan tour. Don't know why they overdubbed the sped-up studio recordings over the live footage though. Oh, and did you notice how Frida smacks Bjorn in the face at about 19:45.

I didn't notice that, no.
What really jumped out at me was Frida's and Agnetha's short rendition, during concert rehearsals, of a worldwide hit that was contemporary to when this documentary was made, "No More Tears (Enough is Enough)" by Donna Summer and Barbra Streisand! The ABBA ladies do a cracking little rendition of that song's opening lines, singing it falsetto in a fun way. I loved hearing that!
Another thing that jumped out at me was Agnetha's kissing on the mouth a young lad who looks no more than about 14 years old, on stage during a rehearsal. She kisses him on the mouth and hugs him. We don't see his face, so I'm not sure who it could be. Later, presumably on a separate day, we see Agnetha kissing the same boy again, but this time on the cheek. Who is/was this person she kissed?? I suppose it could possibly be that Swedish artist who played the role of The Arbiter in Chess years later? Bjorn Skiffs? Wasn't he part of the backing vocalists on tour? Not sure. But if it is indeed him, he's very short and looks so much younger than he actually was - at least seen from behind.
Regardless, the way she kisses that boy/man is done in a way that seems - to me, at least - a lot more intimate than two people who are just "good friends".

Hahaha! Yes, an unfortunate accident, but hilarious!
Yes indeed, it was good to see the live concert segments, even though we had to contend with those screechy sped up bits from studio recordings plonked on top of the visuals. I know the ABBA sings their songs faster live, which is obviously why in post production the film techs had to speed up those original studio-recorded versions to better synchronise with the speed at which they performed those same songs in concert.

Thanks for the heads-up. Here's some info:
Abba docs are ten a penny (or tretton pa dussinet in Swedish), but to tease the launch in London of Abba Voyage later in the week, this one condenses four decades of contrasting, less well-remembered, fortunes. From the title you’d think the gap between separation in 1982 and the return to recording were wilderness years — of course they were anything but. Bjorn and Benny both remarried, and played Chess on a global stage, while the more tentative Agnetha and Frida had initial solo success with Mike Chapman and Phil Collins respectively as producers – but then lean, and unbelievably dark times. There are no new interviews with the four and amid all the squashing-in of material, some songs and archive really do need time to breathe (Frida feeling her way in the studio with Collins and her first post-Abba team; Gary Barlow luring Agnetha back on stage for the first time in 25 years), but there’s wise input from the likes of Elaine Paige and Hugh Padgham, and the shiversome comeback hit I Still Have Faith in You tops a spectacular journey. Who can live without them?

Woken up by Lightning Storm, found this, lots of Tribute Bands doing well on the back of the Voyage'Promo, from one oldie Group to another, liking the inventive rendition!

What ABBA album does Voyage most resemble?
There are songs that to me are a continuation of the more musical The Visitors - 'Faith', 'Ode', Bumblebee and even 'Dan'.
JAN fits more with Voulez Vous - obviously, as does "Doubt'.
'Woman' could be a track from side 1 of The Album. I am not sure where I'd place the others. Like to put LTs in a dustbin 🤣
At the same time Voyage is a bit like Super Trouper in that it is very varied, musically diverse or eclectic. The flip side of this is that it somehow misses an overall "feel". Yes, ABBA's albums have various styles and tempos but not as much as Voyage or Super Trouper.
Personally, in terms of my like/dislike ratio it is similar to Arrival
2 - Great 2 - Good 5 - Ok to a bit meh 1 - Terrible

Today (2nd August 2022) marks 40 years since ABBA recorded 'Cassandra' & 'Under Attack' on 2nd August 1982.

It seems these Gold re-issues (vinyl and cassettes) are for the 30th anniversary of the album. I've seen people on Facebook responding to the official announcement from the ABBA account by asking for More Gold on vinyl (and some saying they're not interested in yet another re-issue of Gold). I guess the vinyl edition of More Gold may come next year for its 30th anniversary. People are also asking about "The Visitors" 40th anniversary set, which seems to have been forgotten.

What I find puzzling is the resurgence of interest in cassette tapes. I assume this is only for nostalgic reasons or do people actually play them. What will be next: a revival of VHS tapes?

Yes, I think it's mainly for nostalgia. I bought a cassette of "Voyage" for that very reason (and I have actually played it). I saw a TV report a few weeks ago about how some VHS cassettes are selling for thousands of pounds/dollars (I think 30000 was mentioned) - it seems that some people are prepared to pay this kind of money for sealed/unplayed examples of key titles.

The Official UK Charts Company has done a big 'Feature' about the 30th Anniversary of 'ABBA Gold'. Unfortunately, Benny and Bjorn don't believe in giving us 'Alternative Versions', of the Hits, so each 'Gold' Re-Issue has to rely on the same 19 ABBA Singles, from when ABBA were together. No inclusion of either of the 1st 2 'Voyage' Singles. Universal - and ABBA - obviously see them as nothing to do with the 1992 'ABBA Gold'. Which is 100% true. There is no room on 'Gold', for them, anyhow... Some Fans seem surprised at yet another Release of 'ABBA Gold', but it was bound to happen. September will be its 30th Year of Release. It was too tempting an Anniversary, for Universal to ignore. ABBA Fans can either buy it, or ignore it. Getting angry, or upset, at it being Released, is just wasting energy. Believe me, Universal could care less. Fans who complain will simply be ignored. LINK TO THE OFFICIAL UK CHARTS COMPANY ABBA 'FEATURE link

So, this 30th anniversary Gold paraphernalia is going to be released on 23rd September. What do we think will happen then? If there is going to be a deluxe edition of "Voyage" in time for Christmas, when will they announce that? Or will they do the 40th anniversary release of "The Visitors" instead? I'm doubting that we will get both.

I'm fond of ABBA Gold, as it was my first ABBA album. Not the first I heard (my grandfather's copy of Greatest Hits Vol.2 was the record that turned me into an ABBA fan), but the first that was my own. I can still remember the joy when I found it under the Christmas tree!

I'm doubting that we will get both. I agree we won't get both. IF there is going to be a Voyage Deluxe, The Visitors will come later. I was also wondering if they would continue with the Happy New Year coloured vinyls. They could include Little Things on the flipside for a change.

I am not convinced there will be a deluxe edition of Voyage. I think Benny raised hopes in some fans by mentioning two unreleased tracks.

The Gold 30th LP is a nice Collectors Edition for those that want it, or more importantly, able to afford it.
Voyage Deluxe?
If l was head of Marketing/Promotion with Both Abba/Voyage' regarding the slight Chance, there maybe a Deluxe Edition, with two unreleased Tracks, and Considering They will be wanting to promote the Show l would Premiere them first with the Abbatar's Exclusively before any Deluxe Edition.

There is no release plan for The Visitors 2LP half-speed etc. in 2022. A sweeping statement like that needs backing up. What makes you so certain? Why should we believe the word of an anonymous contributor?
