Source UK Metro, "Abba Voyage ‘to be extended until 2026’ after huge popularity!
Abba fans – you’re in luck! The band’s sensational show Abba Voyage is reportedly set to be extended for another year, running until 2026.
The iconic Swedish four-piece launched their residency in London’s Pudding Mill Lane earlier this year, creating a hologram experience that has been widely praised by fans.
Rather than the real-life Anni-Frid, 75, Bjorn, 76. Benny, 74, and Agnetha, 71, fans can watch holograms of the singers in their hey-day. And it seems the show has been so popular, it will run until spring 2026.
A source told The Sun: ‘Everyone knows Abba has a seriously loyal fan base but the show was always a bit of a gamble.
No one really knew how the Abba-tars were going to be received, as similar hologram-style concerts were a mixed bag. But for Abba the reaction was amazing. Even those most sceptical about the tech have walked away impressed.
The plan is to refresh the show with new songs that have already been shot by the group.’
It’s said that talks are still in place for the show to transfer to the Las Vegas strip.
Celebrating the launch together earlier this year, the band reunited in London together for the first time in 40 years and my, my, just how much we missed them!
The Swedish pop superstars were last together in the UK capital for an appearance on The Late Late Breakfast show hosted with Noel Edmonds in 1982.
Speaking on the red carpet outside a purpose-built stadium at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in east London, Agnetha enthused: ‘It’s amazing to see all the English fans. Benny admitted he expected himself to cry during the concert, saying: ‘Oh definitely, all the time.’
You and us both, Benny. You and us both"

I read this In the sun this morning. Usually not a source to be trusted but they were spot on regarding the show and album in 2021!

Here is the link from The Sun www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/19641844/abba-extending-residency/2026 is a long way away. That's confidence. So it looks like new songs will be featured at later date. 20 songs in show but only 15 Abbatars. I understand they did over 20. So we will probably see Super Trouper, Take a Chance on Me and perhaps The Name of the Game.

I also read the above 'Sun' article regarding extending the concerts till 2026. It's great news that its been a success in able for it to be extended and that the show would get a refresh. Though it doesn't say when the changes will happen, I'm going again in the Autumn and I would imagine the show may be the same as it was when I first saw it which is absolutely fine. I would guess at 'Super Trouper, 'I Have a Dream and 'Take a chance on me' being added though hard to predict what they would take out as seems the show would be kept to 90 mins.

I remember a situation with Benny, well probably wrong time, wrong place, it was outside the after Party Venue in Leicester Square I think it was held there.
It was in Celebration of the 5th Anniversary for Mamma Mia! Having bought tickets for the Show, the one where Frida lost her Shoe.
It was around mid night when someone shouted Benny, and there he was outside the front door people quickly moved towards him, there was only an handful of fans waiting, I think he was surprised to see people still there he kind of put his hands in his pockets and said just a minute guys, and went back inside, seeing the back of his head as he disappeared down the long corridor,,maybe he had come outside for a quiet cigarette.
It was the first time in my life that l had waited to try and see or get an autograph from a Abba Member, and decided it would be my last.
It was a strange experience seeing all the other celebs leaving the Venue, H from Steps came over to say Hello, but early in the evening l got a surprise when this female came over to talk to me,
and then she asked which was my favourite member of the Group. Frida l said and with that she pulled out a bundle of plain postcards, and handed me one, Frida's autograph! On it I was amazed and grateful, she said she had 3 of Frida's and also had B&Bs and other Celebs, she was obviously a Professional Autograph Hunter,
And to top it all my friend had managed to take a lovely close up Photo of Frida, as she was entering the theatre on the red carpet. So although l had never been so disappointed with Benny's reaction. I got Frida's Autograph something l only dreamed of.

This twitter thread detailing a woman's breathless adoration of ABBA is a joy.

Lizzie's got some writing stamina! And her enthusiasm for ABBA is delightfully off the scale!

I think it was kinda nice reading Benny saying that, he was happy seeing Frida and Agnetha happy. I do understand that Benny can be a bit undiplomatic, but at least we know what he thinking at the time. It reminds me of the book about the British sitcom One Foot In The Grave; the various actors were very blunt about fellow actors and the writer etc, although it was a bit of a shock to read, it also emphasised their professionalism doing the job well. I think Benny is the same, he does not compromise on his integrity in his art.

I recall Benny saying last year that the ladies hadn't done much over the forty years and I think we discussed it at the time, saying that Agnetha and Frida may have a different opinion on that. However, we have to remember that Benny has a dry sense of humour, which may sometimes be mistaken for him being undiplomatic. But I would say that he has been undiplomatic with the fans over JLT

Anyone remember the Red Carpet event at the opening of the show? Interviewed by some woman, (Bjorn was not there) I paraphrase
Woman: Will there be anymore from ABBA? Frida: Erm, oh, ah Benny: You want more? We just brought out an album for the first time in 40 years. This show and venue 5 years in the making and you want more? Agnetha; (Laughing and pulling at Benny's arm). But they want more.
🤣
Agnetha was clearly enjoying.herself and winding up grumpy Benny.

I do see Benny’s point, they have worked on something since 2017, and the very night it is launched they are asked if they going to release more. The thing is, the lion share of the work was probably by Benny: Agnetha and Frida lay down the terms that there would be no promotional work by them. I know there was never any concrete reasons why ABBA ended, but sometimes I think that Agnetha and Frida took a step back after the Japanese tour. Perhaps even during the 1979 tour: no in sync dance routines, that was part of their performances early in the 70’s. Agnetha already said she was not going to venture on promo tours and Frida was planning her solo venture. I think the boys realised early in 1982 that it was all falling apart.

I see Benny's point too but it was kind of funny Agnetha teasing him. To be fair Benny was seeing funny side while making serious point.
Here's that clip

Yes. And a nice change from how it ended originally in 1982. That tense and tetchy appearance on that Noel Edmunds show. Six songs, no album, under performing in the charts.
The comeback with the singles, then album then show and all in good spirit is a much better way to bow out.

I can't watch that Noel Edmonds show anymore - makes me sad, especially for Frida, to me she seemed very 'alone' if you know what i mean? I do think Agnetha very briefly seems a bit annoyed with Benny when he made that comment to Frida on the sofa.
(I never understood why some newspapers seemed to focus negatively on the ladies relationship with each other, IMHO it was both the BB and the AA relationship dynamics that held the group together).
Anyway, this new venture has been a joy for most of us and more importantly for them too. It's a great album as far as i am concerned.

I know what you mean, @alib .
Benny's strange, awkward attitude whenever in the company of Frida persisted for a very long time, imo - including their RRHOF appearance in 2010. If it hadn't changed, I don't think the Voyage project would've happened. So great that it did change!
