My comment was clearly a joke. Thisboycries may reflect and consider he over-reacted (we all do at times) and maybe he'll be back.

Hello Everyone, Firstly, to the few who I have already interacted with in some way shape or form, thank you - your welcomes and discussions mean a lot and I look forwards to hopefully speaking with you all more! I've been listening to ABBA all of my life really - my earliest musical memories were of putting on the 'Greatest Hits' compilations with my Dad, at about the ripe age of 5! I am now eighteen and still have such an immense passion for the group. I never thought I'd see the day where I live during the release of an ABBA album a few years ago, but how wrong I was (and I'm sure many younger fans were too). My collection of ABBA records is probably more limited than other fans, but I love the singles and albums that I've managed to acquire since I started purchasing physical media. A few years ago I came to the conclusion that I'd like my copy of The Visitors to be with me in my final resting place (wherever or however that may be !), and still stick strongly to the decision . I find it to be a truly masterful album, and it remains my undisputed favourite !! I was extremely lucky to be able to save up some money and see Voyage on their third public show - it was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend to anyone on the forum who may be contemplating !! All the best to everyone, and I look forwards to discussing various topics with you all. Once again sending my thank yous to the users who interacted with me and welcomed with me before I had the chance to make this post. Cheers

Hi all
I’m mark from the UK.
I first saw abba when they won Eurovision in 1974 (I was 5 at the time). Been obsessive ever since. Had an abba bag I took to school, which got me a few slaps over the years.
Saw voyage the first week it opened, and I’m going again on the 6th April. That one should be a bit special! Seeing the 50 years to the hour from when I first saw them. How strange and synchronicitous!
My two favourite bands are abba and the smiths. Now, I know what links them in terms of similarity, but it’s taken me a long time to realise what it is.
Xx

Actually, I don't know why I posted as guest for so long. It might have to do with my lasiness.
But I don't have anything to hide, so here I am.
A German Stefan from Berlin, 56 years old. For me it started in 1980, terorrising my mother with playing the Voulez Vous Album 10 times a day and it even got worse with Super Trouper.
Am a huge Musical fan as well and am very thankful that Björn and Benny didn't "just tried to write a Musical"but really wrote two pieces of Musical Theater with great scores!

Welcome synthx. This a great forum to be a part of, especially when there is a whiff of something new being released (which isn't as probable as most of us thought at the beginning of 2024 when we had high hopes due to it being the 50th anniversary of Waterloo winning Eurovision). Oh well, we still have the whole back catalogue being worked on to make Dolby Atmos versions, which will be released at some point this year (I hope).

I think some people on the forum had unrealistic expectations about this year.
There were some TV documentaries which I thought the most likely outcome and a good radio series.
Bur no releases - the unreleased Voyage tracks, yet another compilation or something old from the archives.
There does seem to be a rapid fall in contributions recently. Nobody has written for quite a while about a Voyage concert visit for example.

Hi my name is Bridget, I'm English living in Ireland, I am 61 years young and didn't get to see Abba live, lots of bands from the 70's I would have loved to seen in their prime, although seeing a few now with the bands members ageing. Cannot wait to see the Abba show next week

Hey everyone! My name is Jake and I’ve been a huge fan of ABBA for about 4 years now. I’m only 23 years old but most of my favorite bands and artists are from the 60s-80s (the Beatles, Beach Boys, ELO, and of course ABBA!) and it’s the era of music I find myself coming back to the most. Some of my favorite ABBA songs are If It Wasn’t for the Nights, Knowing Me Knowing You, Dancing Queen, So Long, Soldiers, SOS and Lay All Your Love on Me (among many others!) Also, I just recently did a video with my good friend Matt where we ranked and discussed ABBA’s 9 studio albums from our least favorite to our favorite, and shared our thoughts and opinions on each of them. At the end of our ranking, we also did our own “Greatest Hits” draft where we each selected 10 songs that we felt best represented the ABBA discography. Knowing that most everyone here loves ABBA as well, I figured some of you might enjoy hearing two younger fans talk about the groups songs and albums The video is linked below; we hope you enjoy and we’d love to hear your comments and feedback! Hasta Manana, Jake

Hello
My name is Edward, from UK. I used to post on the ABBATalk page on Facebook and attended many of their events but have not really connected with online ABBA Fandom in recent years. It's nice to find this forum which I hope is friendly and welcoming of all views.
