Indeed… I’m only planning to see it the once but already I can imagine wanting to see it again. Up until Voyage, we’ve had to be content with watching old videos of ABBA at their height, either on various DVDs or YouTube. This new show is very exciting. Now and then combined and they won’t be the same.
I had a thought today… wouldn’t it be lovely if the real ABBA introduced it? If all the ABBATar footage is recorded anyway, there’s no barrier to a short introduction by ABBA as part of it? Even if they all don’t necessarily speak, just be on screen for a few seconds, introducing the show and explaining it’s them then, but as they might look now.

I wonder what music or song will be playing while we are milling about the entrance waiting for us to be let in? I remember the night before the opening of the ABBA museum. there was going to be a light show and fireworks so i was there waiting with other fans. it was a cold windy night then Arrival started playing like it was coming from the skies of Asgard and that sent shivers down my spine and the fans outside the hotel/museum got more excited. i'm imagining outside the arena they might be playing intermezzo? or arrival? ode to freedom? it might be songs that aren't part of the show but good background music. Maybe the Piper? we are after all following a strange melody and summoned by a tune...... into the arena

Alib, I also, won't be able to attend the concert as I can't drive and relying on public transport is very " hit and miss " in this day and age. Also, the price of tickets is very expensive. I am distraught I won't be there to experience the concert. As much as I would like to go, I have to be honest and practical weighing up the pros and cons. It is very daunting travelling to the capital in today's world. If you want to go try and see if you can. Ticket costs: yes, the few remaining for the summer are very expensive but there are cheaper ones in the autumn. You just have to spend time on that Ticketmaster site. Travel/Hotel costs: again just shop around and book ahead for both. I assume you live quite a way from London. It's not the best location in London but you'll find your way around. Safety: yes, there are issues in some parts. But it's generally not bad for travellers into London. If you do go, it'll probably be some months away yet. This gives you plenty of time to organise and 'psych' yourself up. If you want to go, go.

Thanks Johnny, your advice about going to see the concert is really helpful. I appreciate your moral support.

Well been away for a few days, but reading through the posts, Johnny is mentioned,a lot while some may not agree with his Comments.in the real world, he is being honest, in what he perceives, l have seen him being insulted in by others calling him rude names, the very people who think they are Pure as Saints, learn to deal with people that have a different opinion to yours, or where does this end? hanging someone who does not agree with your perception of things in a certain topic? Grow a thick Skin and move on, we all Love Abba here and want the Voyage Show to be a Success!!!

I don't know Johnny for real. But there is some truth in what's been said, we've been through very nasty moments in the not-so-distant past, in which he had a hand, if not both. On the other hand, I have to agree with you that this time the falling out was completely unnecessary, had no real reason and was fuelled by needless nagging. Howgh.

All of this sniping and back and forth is so wearisome...we're less than 2 weeks away from the biggest moment in ABBA fandom (apart from the Voyage album) of the last 40 years.
Can we all agree to move on and discuss the show?

Yes, it is Exciting times with the Voyage Show soon to launch, and maybe new material, we can disagree, but let's share our love for Abba, and live the moment, and remember it's 40 years Since Abba released New Material, We are surely capable to forget and forgive disagreements that is part of being Human:)

New video on Abba's socials - how to get to the venue. Bjorn is shown going on the underground and DLR line.
There's a disclaimer at the end? No ABBA member will be around to help people with their travels.
It's held in the Olympic Park of course. Once the Olympics were a reality people got behind them. I went to the Olympics snd ParaOlympics Maybe the Voyage concers will be.

That new photo suggests capes worn over the red and green outfits. That would explain the drawing we’ve previously seen.

Those new Lyric videos seem to have dried up. I was hoping they would be clues to the setlist.
Regarding the setlist, the trailers say 20 songs. But I think I read somewhere they did 22 songs. Perhaps they might change setlist from time to time.
The live version of SNC is great with that intro, different arrangement, use of bscking singers etc. It's quite different from the studio version. I wonder if any other song will be greatly altered. The Visitors could be very like that
It would be interesting to hear The Winner Takes it All somewhat dr-drummed. Not acoustic or too stripped back though.
In the interview with B+B back in September they mentioned Under Attack and The King Has Lost His Crowm. There are many more much better songs.

Yes, with The Voyage' Show, there are myriad of ideas and and Possibilities, we can imagine,
Some, With the DVD, it's more possible down the line, if their plans are to take it to America, Les Vegas where l think Promoters have shown an interest, then l would think The DVD is a later option, if at all. After 20 plus year's they Still have not released a DVD For the Mamma Mia Show, like so many West End' Broadway Musicals have done.
I Wonder if Benny has Composed Some New Intro Music for the Show, that would be Nice.
Every time l hear the Benny synth intro for the Wembley Concerts in 79, it still gives me tingles, and takes me back to that Night, when l first heard it being Played it's Dark, and near the ending of peice the Curtains are slowly drawn open To reveal Abba Standing Motionless, The Crowd erupts into an enormous roar of Approval, The Girls Standing with arms Out Stretched like symbols to a cross, in the Swirling mist, then Suddenly The song Voulez Vous bursts out, and The Concert begins, definitely worth the ticket price £7.50 back then.

Johnny, of the 3 songs that have had new lyric Videos Chiquitita has had the most Views on YouTube, even more than some of the songs off Voyage. I think they should of done Lyric videos to promote some lesser known Songs like People Need Love', Apt for the times and 50th year. I too like a lot the live version, of SNC, also G+3 and Eagle, l am hoping they have done new arrangements to the songs for a more raw Concert feel, it would be good to hear different Versions of say TWTIA and TDBYC especially if the Girls have recorded New Vocals for some Songs, and hope they include a few lesser known Songs, not on Gold, and besides the two Included from Voyage Album'.

When any dvd release will of course depend on the success and longevity of the Voyage concert.
I wouldn't read too much into no dvd for the stage production of Mamma Mia! They had two films from it - and dvds from them.

Hi Johnny, l take your points, but l am thinking on the Lines that Voyage is a Live immersive Show and the transition to DVD may not be practical Visually etc, but who knows, we have yet to witness the Spectacle. But l cannot see them releasing a DVD This year, when they have spent Millions on Building a Portable Arena. I mentioned Mamma Mia Stage Musical, eg, as being best viewed live amongst an audience in the Theatre, as opposed to DVD, as a reason there has not been a DVD release. The Movies are slightly different, and were not conceived until nearly 10 years after the Staging of Mamma Mia'. I am not opposed to a DVD release, if it is Planned, or a pay to view live Streaming Special, were say Original Abba Band Members make a Guest appearance with the Band! Like Lasse Wellander, or even Benny, would be weird, but possible.

Yep, probably nothing this year. It is too soon. And maybe something more than a dvd along the lines you suggest.
Hasn't there got to be something for all the fans around the world who won't see the show?

It looks like they worked on the concert towards the end of covid. So perhaps more songs from Voyage? 22 songs. 90 minutes. That is interesting. Not sure why but I’d assumed they did the motion capture thing in 2018, shortly after they’d completed ISHFIY and DSMD in 2017. We’ve been led to believe that only those two songs from Voyage will be in it (or at least in it as performed by the ‘Tars. I expect other songs to be in the intro).

You're not the only one who thought the work for Voyage was shortly after recording ISHFIY and DSMD. I did too.

I think that article from the Independent is just poorly written and incorrect - it's drawing on a Rolling Stone article which says: "Not too long before the pandemic put things to a near-halt, the four members of ABBA met from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, for four and half weeks straight, performing for 200 cameras and a crew of nearly 40 people while wearing motion-capture suits. They posted up in a sound studio within the Swedish Film Institute, playing all the songs they had carefully curated for their first show in 40 years. “It was really a pleasure for all of us,” Andersson says."www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/abba-voyage-residency-reunion-1352928/This tallies with all other accounts of the motion capture work taking place in February and March 2020. Not sure if the 22-song setlist is correct either, as the ABBA Voyage social media accounts recently posted a video which said it would have 20 songs. Not long to go to find out either way!

Ok, even if done in early 2020 that is 4 or 5 Voyage songs already know.
The 20 or 22 songs as I interpret it, is 22 songs recorded but a show will only have 20. So they can tweak setlist overtime.

Two of the 2019 tracks are Bumblebee and I Can Be That Woman… not sure I’d want either of those in the show at the expense of big hits!
