Agnetha - Wrap Your Arms Around Me Frida - Shine
I like all 5 of Agnetha's English solo albums I have no idea why 'Eyes Of A Woman' is not as liked as the others its a fabulous album and regarding Frida's solo albums 'Shine' is by far so much better than 'Something's Going On'.

Judy Cramer was interviewed by Graham Norton this morning. She confirmed MM3 is in the works, despite Gorel Hanser ruling it out earlier in the year... Oh no, they are going to flog this thing to death. Why not stop while they're on a high. And where are the songs coming from? At this rate, they'll be resorting to "Watch Out" and "Man In The Middle". OK, perhaps an exaggeration, but they've already used up virtually all of ABBA's singles and made a good dent in the better album tracks. I really hope that 'Under Attack' is included in Mamma Mia 3 as its in the stage show and I was surprised it didn't appear in Mamma Mia 2 I am assuming the title for Mamma Mia 3 will be How Can We Resist You

Remixes ruin the original songs and ABBA's songs are prefect the way they are and I seriously hope that Bjorn & Benny never agree to let anyone do god awful remixes.

I still find The Singles dissatisfying though. It came right at the end of ABBA’s life, and was a stopgap between albums (and no subsequent album happened). The artwork is classy but boring, and it misses some key singles. The other two compilations are more interesting. One released at the start of ABBA’s classic years and the other at the end of them, though still more to come. The Singles is “we were great once, and here’s a reminder, but we’re so last decade, and we’re about to f**k off without so much as a by-your-leave.” I still think a re-issue of The Singles: The First Ten Years on CD with an expanded tracklist would be brilliant.

The reason I imagine it would be likely to be included, is because it was a US hit. Given that the US version had SILOC on the flip and the same sleeve as the Polar edition of OOU, my guess is that going with the Australian release with the yellow sleeve and Soldiers on the flip. I really hope it is included. Me too both songs are brilliant

The only problem I can see with that approach, Adam, is that the half-speed master for the album would run to at least four discs. If they didn't give this treatment to GPLM, or either of the Greatest Hits albums, sadly I can't see them doing it for The Singles: The First Ten Years. As for the singles, it would be a very slim box containing just two discs. Unless, of course, they decide to add TYFTM/OLS to match the size of the smallest previous sets? I can't help thinking they'll treat The Visitors like Voulez-Vous and add the two 1982 singles to the box. It will be interesting to see which country's sleeves they'll go with for OOU, HOH and WAISAD. I have read a few fan comments on Facebook that say 'When All Is Said And Done'/'Soldiers' won't be included in 'The Visitors' box set it would be very strange to leave it out as 'When All Is Said And Done' is the best and strongest song on 'The Visitors' album I think it will be included.

Going back to The Visitors box set singles (due next year), been thinking this over and wondered if 'Slipping Through My Fingers' would be included as it was issued as a promo picture disc for the Japanese market in '81. That would give us six singles and six picture discs. I can only dream :-) I think the singles for The Visitors box set will be: One of Us/Should I Laugh Or Cry Head Over Heels/The Visitors When All Is Said And Done/Soldiers Slipping Through My Fingers/Se Me Esta Escapando The 1982 singles The Day Before You Came/Cassandra & Under Attack/You Owe Me One would feel out of place in The Visitors box set would rather see them released as standalone singles in 2022 or to coincide with a Half Speed master of 'The Singles: The First Ten Years I am disappointed that the 'Gracias Por La Musica' album didn't get a Half Speed master as that album also celebrates its 40th Anniversary this year.

If there is going to be a new ABBA album with all new songs then a second disc with the songs from the 1982 recording sessions should be included as those songs were originally recorded for a 9th album that would have been released in 1983 had it not been shelved those songs feel out of place on the re-issues of The Visitors album or a second disc should have been included with The Visitors album.
This is my view of what a 9th album could have been like had it been released in 1983/1984
1. Under Attack 2. Cassandra 3. I Am The City 4. You Owe Me One 5. Just Like That (Saxophone Version) 6. Every Good Man 7. Slowly 8. Man 9. Don't Do It 10. The Queen of Hearts 11. When The Waves Roll Out To Sea (Instrumental) 12. The Day Before You Came.

When the new ABBA songs are finally released I will be quite content just to hear the new songs. To be honest I am not too keen with " The ABBAtars " project. I feel the song setlist will be very similar to the ABBA live concert setlist and many of the best songs that were never performed live will be omitted. I have always peferred ABBA in the studio to ABBA live in concert. Apologies if I offend anyone. I prefer to listen to ABBA in the studio as well.

It would’ve been nice if they had released something to commemorate the 40th Anniversary. Even if there was a reissue of a Spanish single such as Chiquitita or Estoy Sonando. Re-releasing a half speed master of the Gracias Por La Musica album would have been lovely

I made a thread on the 13th November 2019 about the 40th Anniversary of 'Gracias Por La Musica' and its had 177 views and only 1 reply which I think is quite rude several of my threads get little to no replies which I feel is extremely unfair

As 2020 marks the 40th Anniversary of ABBA's 1980 Spanish album 'Gracias Por La Musica' does anyone know if its being re-released as a Half Speed master as it would be nice plus the cover on the album is really nice we will definitely get 'Super Trouper' wanted to know if 'Gracias Por La Musica' Half Speed master has been announced.
I am looking forward to hearing the new ABBA songs 'I Still Have Faith In You' & 'Don't Shut Me Down' plus any others that are released.

I really wish ABBA would release Monsieur, Monsieur its a beautiful song no reason why it couldn't have been released in 2016 to mark the 40th Anniversary of Arrival. I am really looking forward to hearing 'I Still Have Faith In You' & 'Don't Shut Me Down' and to seeing how they do when they are released as well as the possible new album that has been mentioned.

Happy New Year/Andante, Andante was released as single in Portugal and the single had a nice sleeve in the 2014 Singles box which also contained the Alternate Mix of Andante, Andante A CD re-release of The Singles: The First Ten Years would be lovely and just add the missing singles as well as Cassandra, You Owe Me One, I Am The City and Just Like That as bonus tracks its about time ABBA's music got some CD love again plus add lots of alternate photos of the cover session in the booklet and new liner notes. Its almost certain that Ring Ring, Waterloo & ABBA will get half speed masters really hope that Gracias Por La Musica gets a half speed master as 2020 marks its 40th Anniversary. When All Is Said And Done/Soldiers will very likely be included in 'The Visitors' box set and for the 2021 record store day they could do coloured vinyls of Hovas Vittne/Tivedshambo and No Hay A Quien Culpar/Se Me Esta Escapando, I actually hope they leave the coloured vinyl singles of Under Attack/ You Owe Me One & The Day Before You Came/Cassandra until 2022 so that they can have a proper 40th Anniversary.
Thank You For The Music/Our Last Summer was released as a single in the UK to promote the 1983 compilation album 'Thank You For The Music' that would also be nice on a coloured vinyl in 2023 and that 1983 compilation album has never had a CD release so that would be nice. If Universal Music really wanted to mark record store day in 2022 they could release a coloured vinyl of I Am The City/Just Like That but its unlikely. More ABBA Gold needs a Vinyl re-release purely for I Am The City and the fact that its almost impossible to find it anywhere on Vinyl.

ABBA's 1980 Spanish album 'Gracias Por La Musica' celebrates its 40th Anniversary in 2020 so could it get the half speed master treatment and this album is long overdue a re-issue on Vinyl, the Deluxe Edition released in 2014 basically confirmed its a regular studio album, Oro was released on Vinyl in 2018 so no reason why 'Gracias Por La Musica' couldn't get a Vinyl re-issue.

It would be wonderful if Universal would do this with 'Slipping Through My Fingers/Se Me Esta Escapando'
2020 marks the 40th Anniversary of the Super Trouper album and their Spanish album Gracias Por La Musica so I am expecting half speed masters of both of those albums
I do think that 'Happy New Year/Andante, Andante' will be included in the Super Trouper box set, so I think they will be these songs
The Winner Takes It All/Elaine Super Trouper/The Piper Lay All Your Love On Me/On And On And On Happy New Year/Andante, Andante
There are a few songs that Universal could release as singles each year
Slipping Through My Fingers/Like An Angel Passing Through My Room Put On Your White Sombrero/The Way Old Friends Do I Am The City/Just Like That or Just Like That/I Am The City I Let The Music Speak/Two For The Price Of One No Hay A Quien Culpar/Se Me Esta Escapando One Man, One Woman/Move On What About Livingstone/Sitting In The Palmtree Love Isn't Easy (But It Sure Is Hard Enough)/Me And Bobby And Bobby's Brother Another Town, Another Train/Disilluison Tiger/Arrival (Instrumental) My Love, My Life/Dum Dum Diddle When I Kissed The Teacher/Why Did It Have To Be Me I've Been Waiting For You/Hey, Hey Helen
I Still Have Faith In You/I Am The City Don't Shut Me Down/Just Like That
I think 'The Visitors' box set in 2021 will have the following songs as singles
When All Is Said And Done/Soldiers Head Over Heels/The Visitors One of Us/Should I Laugh Or Cry Slipping Through My Fingers/Like An Angel Passing Through My Room or Se Me Esta Escapando (bonus single and Slipping Through My Fingers was a single in Japan no actual B-Side)
No Hay A Quien Culpar/Se Me Esta Escapando (could be a bonus single during the year)
2022 - 40th Anniversary of 'The Singles: The First Ten Years'/9th album sessions
The Day Before You Came/Cassandra Under Attack/You Owe Me One
I Am The City/Just Like That (could be a bonus single during the year)
A half speed master of the 'Gracias Por La Musica' album would be fantastic as the 2014 Deluxe Edition basically cemented its status as a regular studio album and its long overdue a re-issue on Vinyl, I know that ABBA Oro was released on Vinyl in 2018 but no reason that whatsoever not to re-issue Gracias Por La Musica as well.

Adam, I think your tracklisting for a revised and expanded edition of " ABBA The Singles " is brilliant and one I would love to own. 8th November 2017 marked 35 years since the release of 'The Singles: The First Ten Years' and I would love a Deluxe style re-issue of it a DVD would also be nice featuring the 1982 Show Express performances of 'The Day Before You Came', 'Cassandra' & 'Under Attack', the cover of the album is beautiful and it deserves a proper expanded and updated re-issue.

'Don't Do It' was a song that Frida wrote for her 1984 album Shine and yes I do think 'When The Waves Roll Out To Sea' should have been on it as the Instrumental version is beautiful, Elaine Paige's vocal version has never been released buts it should have had its official release in 2014 on the 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of Chess that would have been the ideal time to release it.

I love the songs from the 1982 recording sessions, they all have their own unique charm. As we all know ABBA planned to release a 9th album recording sessions began in May 1982 the album was then shelved and further work on it was going to continue in 1983 as well as releasing it that same year so it was decided that a new compilation album called 'The Singles: The First Ten Years' would be released and it would contain two new singles. So the fact that ABBA planned a new album meant that they still wanted to continue working together, I disagree with other fans who often say that the energy is gone from the songs I don't think it is at all. 'Under Attack', 'Cassandra', 'I Am The City', 'You Owe Me One', 'Just Like That' and 'The Day Before You Came' are all excellent songs and all 6 songs would have been released on the 9th album in 1983. I often regard 'Every Good Man' as an ABBA song, yes it features Agnetha on vocals its also a beautiful song which eventually became 'Heaven Help My Heart' in Chess, I also wondered as to why ABBA never recorded Spanish versions of 'Under Attack' and 'The Day Before You Came'.
A possible tracklist for the 9th album
1. Under Attack 2. Cassandra 3. I Am The City 4. You Owe Me One 5. Just Like That (Saxophone Version) 6. Every Good Man 7. Slowly 8. Man 9. Don't Do It 10. When The Waves Roll Out To Sea (Instrumental) 11. The Queen Of Hearts 12. The Day Before You Came
