IF the 2014 Japanese Triple CD - 'ABBA 40/40 - The Best Selection' - is to be released in the UK etc. in December, Universal could use 'The Singles' Photo for that Compilation. That isn't a bad idea at all

It would be nice to see the cover of The Singles: The First Ten Years reused on other compilations.

The Singles: The First Ten Years has a wonderful album cover and its the last album ABBA released while they were still together and the fact that the 1982 Show Express performances haven't been released on DVD why not include those on a re-release of that album it would be a nice DVD and I don't think it was a mistake releasing the Essential Collection its a fabulous compilation I have the 3 disc edition.

It would be great but it will sadly never happen. According to official sources Universal has no plans to re-release The Singles as updated version of this compilation is available (Essential Collection). And as for Just Like That, I'm afraid it won't be let out of the vaults as long as Benny is able to speak (to say NO). Recently he said it will be a cold day in hell before Just Like That is released.... What official sources do you mean and the reason it would be good to have a re-release of The Singles: The First Ten Years is due to the fact all their other albums got re-releases even Gracias Por La Musica got a Deluxe Edition.

ABBA's 1982 compilation album The Singles: The First Ten Years will celebrate its 35th Anniversary on 8th November 2017 and it would be nice to see it re-released on CD with an updated track list and some of their other singles being included such as When All Is Said And Done, Head Over Heels, Angeleyes, Eagle, Thank You For The Music, People Need Love & He Is Your Brother as well as including the 4 remaining songs from the 1982 9th album sessions to finally give those songs a proper home, what are your thoughts and memories of its release in 1982. This is my view of what the updated track list could be if it gets a re-release CD 1: 1. People Need Love 2. He Is Your Brother 3. Ring Ring 4. Waterloo 5. Honey, Honey 6. I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do 7. SOS 8. Mamma Mia 9. So Long 10. Dancing Queen 11. Fernando 12. Money, Money, Money 13. Knowing Me, Knowing You 14. The Name Of The Game 15. Take A Chance On Me 16. Eagle 17. Thank You For The Music 18. Summer Night City CD 2: 1. Voulez Vous 2. I Have A Dream 3. Angeleyes 4. Chiquitita 5. Gimme!, Gimme!, Gimme! (A Man After Midnight) 6. Does Your Mother Know 7. Super Trouper 8. The Winner Takes It All 9. Lay All Your Love On Me 10. Happy New Year 11. One of Us 12. When All Is Said And Done 13. Head Over Heels 14. The Visitors 15. Slipping Through My Fingers 16. The Day Before You Came 17. Under Attack Bonus Tracks 18. Cassandra 19. You Owe Me One 20. Just Like That (Saxophone Version) 21. I Am The City

I don't think its happening and I have messaged Bruce Gaitsch on facebook he replied saying that he had contacted the head of Warner Music Sweden but they haven't replied he did say that they approached him in January saying that because this year is the 30th Anniversary of I Stand Alone they want to re-release it and that they have contacted Agnetha about it he did say that she says no to everything that gets sent to her but he remains adamant that its being released but its almost November and the 30th Anniversary is 9th November so and there is no news whatsoever so I don't think its being released unless its been postponed until 2018 as I Stand Alone didn't get released in some countries until 1988.

I'd buy it for tracks 13 and 16 alone. The remaining bonus tracks mean little to me, but I'm sure they'll be real treats for other fans. The Spanish songs La Ultima Vez & Yo No Fui (Quien Dijo Adios) have never been released on CD before so that would be nice.

Bonus Tracks
11: La Ultima Vez (Spanish Version of The Last Time) 12: Yo No Fui (Quien Dijo Adios) (Spanish Version of I Wasn’t The One (Who Said Goodbye) 13: Let It Shine (Bright Mix) 14: Let It Shine (7” Version) 15: I Wasn’t The One (Who Said Goodbye) (Extended Version) 16: I Stand Alone (Extended Version)

I have been told by another ABBA fan that it was mentioned that on ABBAtalk that Cherry Red Records are planning to release a remastered version of Agnetha's 1987 album 'I Stand Alone' I really hope that they do as I would love to see the two Spanish songs included La Ultima Vez & Yo No Fui (Quien Dijo Adios) has anyone else heard anymore information regarding this news.

I absolutely love 'Cassandra' and I have always felt that it should have been released as an A-Side as its classic ABBA and a more suitable choice as a single, I also feel it would have been a massive hit and it would have done better in the charts than 'The Day Before You Came' which obviously would have made an ideal B-Side.
I have heard a few people say that Epic should have made 'The Day Before You Came' & 'Cassandra' a Double A-Side single in the UK, it still baffles me as to what 'Cassandra' was intended for as it never appeared on The Singles: The First Ten Years so does that mean it was intended for the 9th album along with the other 5 songs and having listened to 'The Day Before You Came' quite alot recently it would have been the ideal closing track on the 9th album.
What are your thoughts?.

There is some very interesting information on the Wikipedia page of 'The Day Before You Came' that mentions other versions of the song that I would love to hear, those versions need to be released.
Below is the relevant information from Wikipedia
While reminiscing on the track at an interview for Mamma Mia! the musical, Björn said, "we thought it was a great song", but added that they also thought it would not work as it was so far removed from their previous material. Frida said that there were "problems over how Agnetha would interpret it". ABBA attempted many different ways of singing the song, eventually settling on a "haunted" style. In the version that got released, Agnetha sang as if she was hurt and vulnerable, rather than belting it out (which Bjorn implies she did in other takes). Frida said the song was "a very different sound to what we had done before", and Björn added that they were "taking a chance". Frida said it was a "beautiful song". In response to the interviewer commenting on their looking unhappy in the video clip, Frida said, "it was an unhappy time of our lives [as we were] on the verge of splitting up" and had started talking about the individual projects of each member. She adds that it was not an easy situation, arguably justifying the gloomy atmosphere as a parallel of their real lives as a part of ABBA.
What are your thoughts.

Hello there everyone
My name is Adam I am 24 and I live in the United Kingdom, I became an ABBA fan in 2003 at the age of 13, their music actually saved me from the bullying I was going through at time and I could only see one way out that was until I found a very dusty copy of ABBA Gold which I then played and from that moment on I fell in love with them, two weeks later during a science lesson my teacher took out a copy of Thank You For The Music box set and played disc 4, it was on that very day I discovered my favourite ABBA song 'Dream World' and I also discovered 'You Owe Me One' on the same day as well so I decided there and then that I had to collect every possible ABBA album on CD to which I have achieved and I still do it now.
'Ring Ring' is my favourite album as it includes one of my favourite ABBA songs 'Nina Pretty Ballerina', the Deluxe Edition series has been my favourite collection of albums and I have all 8 so far and it will be complete when the Deluxe Edition of Gracias Por La Musica is released. I have just recently completed my collection of ABBA albums on Vinyl and now I am going after Singles on Vinyl, my next goal is to collect all their albums on cassette.
Most of you may know me from Facebook, Twitter or ABBA4ever, I am honoured to be friends with so many people who have the same interest as me one of my goals is to travel to Sweden to visit the ABBA Museum. I love all of ABBA's music, I mostly like their music from 1981-1982 but in my opinion their best album is Voulez Vous.
So there you have it a brief introduction about me below are my top 10 favourite ABBA songs (the top 3 never change but the rest can change positions).
1. Dream World 2. Slipping Through My Fingers 3. Mamma Mia 4. I Am The City 5. Nina Pretty Ballerina 6. Hasta Manana 7. Elaine 8. The King Has Lost His Crown 9. One Man, One Woman 10. Tiger
Serena Williams is my favourite female tennis player as you can probably tell from my avatar and Rafael Nadal is my favourite male tennis player, I also have a dog called Holly who is just adorable.
