Although early days of 2019 The UK has just released the best selling albums so far of 2019. Quarter One..
Mamma Mia 2 is the 14th Best seller and ABBA Gold is a Remarkable 33rd.
Obviously all will change and who know what will happen with the new releases in September/October, inevitably push those sales up.

It's always interesting and debatable to hear people's perspectives, on what's right or wrong, just like the Brexit debate here in the UK.
Ifs buts and maybes, the reality though is that we do know all about it and we have to live with it... and we all wait and see what happens, it may be a monumental success or failure...a lot depends on each individuals perspective on life, optimistic, pessimistic or in my case realistic...
we wait...

I have to agree^^ Janabbafan, I'm still looking forward to it all, as long as it does happen of course,!! and let's remember it's highly likely that this will be it, the last we ever get. apart from the umpteenth collection.. but as for new stuff.... They are all over 70 or vey close, I think we tend to forget, that eternal bubble, it can't go on forever..the music will but not them The two boys can write upto whenever, but the girls voices will eventually go.. sad but true... So we wait a few more months and get more excited as the time nears.. personally as said before , all this publicity whether we think is good or bad, keeps on working.....we are still talking about it all, some negatively others positively..but hey it's all publicity...

Each to their own thoughts.. However, being a realistic person ( I like to think ) , I'm actually quite optimistic on all of this ' news' filtering through, as I said in a previous post, all of this ' news' whether you feel is good or bad is keeping everything ticking along with media speculating and 'us' talking about it... So , for me , I'm actually living in eternal hope of that new album, whether it's a false hope , only time tell.

Thankyou Colin, I'm pretty rubbish at posting stuff like that..
Ok, there's not an awful lot there that we haven't heard in one way or another, I'm just hoping that he (Dan) was not being over dramatic and excitable, as we have heard of a potential 3rd song now it's 'many more' Potential Album.... did Bjorn actually say that or was it Dan getting excited..
As we are all doing... we wait and see...

Latest news... Possibly very exciting On UK breakfast TV, The Lorraine Show, this morning 7th March cutting a long story short, she interviews one of her presenters who's. a huge ABBA fan who recently had breakfast with Bjorn in Stockholm .. During that conversation it was mentioned that there were "many more " songs to come enough for an Album ... so this will start the rumours flying around again.. but positive news from what I'd say was a fairly reliable source.

2019, 9 album charts all of Golds position in the top 40, high of 29 low of 38, pretty consistent, an average of around 2,500 sales per week, I'm guessing, most of those sales are physical, so around another 20,000 plus sales to its impressive total of 5.4 million plus sold in the U.K...

I totally get the frustration. I must be more patient than I even thought I was. One of my philosophys is "what you haven't had you can't miss". that said it has been like dangling a carrot that always out of reach, I still believe at some point we will get something, in a perverse sort of way it's been a form of marketing... the wait.... whether it works or backfires time will tell, but aren't we all talking about it one way or another positively or negatively.. When the time does come, all of this will be forgotten and will be the event of the year...if not the decade...hope it lives up to the hype. I still have a sneaking feeling that I Still Have Faith In You will be in the same style of Story Of A Heart...

Well believe it or not there are several counties that have already selected their entry for Tel Aviv in Israel.. so so far only one stands out , but far to early to call.. Italy, again different surprisingly a catchy bit that will stand out.... UK , dire power ballad, again bottom half of the right hand side i.e. 24th... but with 3 months to go and 34 counties to select... its far to early to really start predicting.. but let the fun begin...

Usually an impossible task for any of us as Personally even a favourite can drop down your preferences, some are so over played/heard, as in my case decades.. so as a rule you would find the following somwhere in the top 100..lol. ive * those that would probably be always there or there about, and as time goes by your tastes change.. so in no particular order.. Dancing Queen.. * since hearing this way back in 76, a constant favourite, never tire even after 1000s of listenings As Good As New* Personally a huge missed hit single Kisses Of Fire* those that know me, no big surprise here, another missed hit single in my opinion Ring Ring.. an early favourite Take A Chance On Me.. catchy Voulez Vous.. disco and fun The Winner Takes It All.. a yo yo track, bass / drums to dominant sometimes LayAll Your Love On Me.. * should have been a massive hit, stupidity on a 12 inch only Ive Been Waiting For You * timeless simple beautiful If It Wasn't For The Nights, another yo yo track for me, potential missed single.. Summer Night City . Grown on me over the years, vibrant Hey Hey Helen. Old, rock, but somehow really good ahead of its time Lovelight.. not sure why, but always preferred it to the A side. Hole In Your Soul.. the future of Hey Hey Helen, thought ABBA did a good rock song when they could.. another missed single The Piper .. a favourite at the moment, so different, great little track Dreamworld.. perhaps because of its lateness in knowing of it, it has become a favourite On And On And On .. rock again.. should've been double A side with LAYLOM One Of Us.. Mandolins and melody sell it unusual. When I Kissed The Teacher, great little track , could've been a hit in its own right, a little over heard because of MM2 Like An Angel Passing Through My Room.. because of the emotion it brings out in me. There you have it for this moment in time.. ask me tomorrow and I'd say 2/3 would drop out, * would always be there. Time will tell if the new ones make it.. Ive a funny feeling they will, because they will be new.. we wait😀

I guess we are all a little frustrated, it has been a while since the announcement.
Personally, what we haven't had we cant miss as they say. I've waited 30 plus years, what's another few months .
Weve been teased many times before whether deliberately or not, the odd track, for those that can remember Dreamworld , I am The City, both old hat now but at the time.. wow... reunion rumours, all there to keep us hoping..
Something will happen, hopefully soon, and again I personally think outside us dedicated fans and the music business , it will all be new news again when it happens and the hype will naturally come along with it, regardless of how old the " new" tracks are by then , they will actually be new...
I sit and wait...

In the first new chart of 2019 in the U.K. Album charts , MM2 climbs back into the top 10 @ 9, from 16 , Gold climbs from 38 to 31, MM climbs one place to 53 . ( Cher still hanging on at 70 ).
Is the Album chart a more true reflection? All the Christmas hits from last week's singles chart have totally disappeared from the chart, ( even last week's number 2 albeit Mariah's Christmas hit isn't in the top 100, so from number 2 to nothing ) and apart from the number one every other track is either a new entry, re entry or climber, no track falls.! In the top 40 .
For those who like charts etc ABBA are going to have a tough time getting a big hit, if those new tracks ever get released.
Is it time to change something ? How are charts compiled in other counties? Are they the same ? Or just as chaotic..

And probably all 38 will be out of the charts next Friday, or at least the vast majority,
but that's the nature of the charts, ABBA could possibly hang on another week if there had been that double A side of HNY plus that elusive Christmas track...
we will now have to wait wait until Christmas 2019....lol...
Meanwhile HNY , drops from 2 to 33 in the UK singles vinyl charts...

It's a great result in one way. However with only 3000 copies worldwide , how many did the UK have, not many, so it's bound to plummet next week. As nice as it all is , does it really have any relevance to anything ? A maximum of a couple of 100 being sold... if only they had made a Christmas double A side with this being one of them, they would've had Christmas covered for 38 years by now !! Returning to the charts year in year out...

Fans take on all levels of Fandom, from marginal interest to being fanatic, the latter are the ones I tend to think a little strange, where no matter what the artist in our case ABBA can do no wrong.. it's all from a personal point of view. In my opinion ABBA have done wrong, in the past and no doubt will do in the future, but hey, 99% is fine with me.. Abbatars, whatever will be will be.. the true hard core fans these days are minimal, just look at this site only 400 ish members and only a handful ever submit anything less than 30 of us at a guess on a regular basis. The general public will lap up the ABBAtars , for the fun factor and will generate money, for us many will take or leave them, personally it will depend on how much a ticket will be for instance.. Its ok to have concerns but nothing has happened yet and I can't see if all went wrong, that they wouldn't release the new tracks. 6 months and counting and I hope more than the odd 30 of us have a say...

^^^I agree from a long standing personal view about concerns regarding the Abbatars. That said, I also have to agree, that there are so few of us to make any huge difference, even on here there are only around 400 members of which I'm guessing 300 plus make no contribution but just observe so the " moaners" are a very small minority. As for the general public, majority will have already forgotten about the new tracks and the forthcoming show and Abbatars, that is until the media whips it all up again, which it will do. So ultimately, it's quite possible that it's no more than a handful of so called die hard fans who think this is a bad idea, if you added them all up I doubt more than 50 , and that's being generous, ( multiple posts by the same person looks dramatic ). So in all reality do they really make that much of a difference to what will happen....no. Time itself will dictate how good everything will be or not, so let's just sit and wait a little longer, then we can all have our say, all 50 of us..lol
