Sometimes I just take a notion to listen to an album by Abba or another artist. For no good reason i yearn to hear it again. Recently those albums have been Guilty , Rumours and Waterloo. Took me back to 1976 when I bought Waterloo album for £1.29. I remember loving most of the album. Favourites being Waterloo, Honey Honey, Dance, Hasta manana and What about Livingstone? Stand out for me was Gonna sing you my love song . All these years later nothing has changed although I have grown to appreciate Watch out and My Mamma Said. I take it others must do the same. Has anyone else revisited an Abba album and changed their opinion on a song? I remember loving TFTM on The Album but now it’s one of my least favourite Abba tracks.

With the weather still cold here in the (UK) it certainly does not feel like Spring. Which Abba songs remind you of spring? For me Hasta Manana, I am just a girl, Me and Bobby and Bobby’s brother and Move on.

For the 1975 album I think Limousine would have been a good title for the Abba album -reference to Man in the Middle and the front cover. If using one of the songs as a title.....Rock Me. Or I’ve Been Waiting. Just realised modes of transport have appeared on 3 studio album covers...Abba, Arrival and The Album.

They? Could it be the media, or gossips, suitiors or were they exploring an idea which would develop into The Visitors?

Think ‘Hole in Your Soul’ would have been a good choice. Still like it today unlike TYFTM which I have gone off over the years.

The Abba live album released in 1986. Just looked so cheap. Some sketch of scaffolding at a live show.

And what about Super Trouper had it not replaced Put on your white sombrero? Would it have been called ‘The Piper’ or ‘White sombrero’? My favourite album title is Arrival announcing Abba as having arrived to stay on the music scene in 1976. No other obvious title for that album. Same with ‘’Voulez Vous ‘and ‘The Visitors’.

Seaside Special and the Made in Sweden. They had such energy and freshness in these performances. And the iconic cat outfits. Least favourite the late late breakfast show last performance. There seemed a sadness about that one.

Always remember being disappointed in the title of The Album. With already having an album titled simply Abba thought it caused confusion when talking about the Abba album. I know it was marketing at the time...,The Movie, The Soap but I would have preferred a different title. Given the studio albums were no longer than two words I would have gone for Eagle as the album soared to new heights and was the opening track. Move on would have been good or Departure as their music had by now moved on and departed from their earlier stuff to more mature areas. Anyone got other ideas?

‘ I wonder’ live is so much better than the studio. Like the narrative leading into to the song. Gives drama to the song.

We get together as a group of friends to watch each year and collectively we never get it right. Its fun though. Most years the winners disappear into obscurity . Doubt if another act will emulate Abba’s Success. Just wish countries would vote for the best song and not just its because it’s their neighbour. Quite like our entry but unlikely to take the crown.

Watched this and hated it. Bad wigs and acting. Normally I save programmes to watch again. Not this one . Straight to delete. And how much was fabrication?

Don’t think TFTM has aged well. Liked it at the time but I was 13 then. I think it’s a bit too twee and might have been a sizeable hit at the time. Leaving it to the 8os was a bad idea. Definitely of its time and the 80s were not it. I’m sure that Abba had been considering Hole in your soul in 1978 as a single release. I wonder had they done so how well it would have done.

Yeah like Sister Sledge as support or Yvonne Elliman for the USA and Canada. For Europe considering which bands were around at the time....the Dooleys , Darts or Racey. Or Candi Statton. Or Tina Charles. All had at least two hits under their belt.

Champagne . A very camp Abba. Very catchy and fun to watch. So many nods to Abba in their songs.... the keyboards especially.

Oh that takes me right back to 1978 and all the hype to push the Abba brand in USA. Remember eagerly awaiting the Olivia show and loving it. Think they could only have conquered USA with extensive touring and that was never to be.

With no prospect of the real thing, I think this could work. A new album would be nice. I think Abba have made the right decision about not performing live. They have retired from live performances with dignity. Some other bands resemble spitting image puppets and need to call it a day.

Which artist would have filled the void for you? For me in the 70s think it would have been Donna Summer and from the 8os onwards Madonna.

Hey hey Helen. Remember buying Fernando in 1976 for 25 pence! That’s inflation for you. Played both sides non stop until I got Waterloo album and Greatest Hits album. Takes me right back in time.
