I feel the singles charts have been devalued over recent years. Being number one and especially entering at number one used to be a rare feat. Some years having fewer than 12 number one singles prior to 2000. Even the anticipation of the Christmas number one has lost its appeal to me. As much as I have tried to take to Ed, Adele or Sam I find them rather depressing. Ok in small doses. Cannot take away from their popularity. Each to their own.

Could My love, my life released as a double A side with Money money money given Abba a Christmas number one in 1976?With its dreamy angelic vocals and bells it might have helped nudge them up to number one ahead of Johnny Mathis. Similarly Happy new year as a double A side with Super Trouper might have returned them to number one at the festive period in 1980.

I would say The Visitors and I’ve been waiting for you. Some others that should have been singles in their own right.....As good as New, if wasn’t for the nights, Slipping through my fingers, Eagle , Andante Andante and Happy new year.

Would love for Frida to give us either another album of original material or a cover album like colouring book. Could be a good time coming up to capatalise on Mamma Mia. Songs on my imaginary album would be-Cher’s Believe, Elkie Brook’s No more the fool, Rita Coolidge’s We’re all alone, Take That’s Rule the world, Amy winehouse Back to Black- other songs-Woman in love, If I can’t have you, Life on Mars(re visit), Skyfall, Ruby Winter’s ‘I will’, Hallelujah, You’re my world, Power of love, eurythmics - love is a stranger, Losing my mind, It’s a Sin. Erasure’s Love to hate you. These are just a few that I can think of that would suit Frida’s voice. Anyone else have songs they would like to hear Frida sing ?

There are a number of Abba songs from both Mamma Mias on More Abba Gold. Maybe the additional tracks not on either Abba Gold or Moregold could be homed there. Maybe dropping a few from the original More Gold. Take out Lovelight, the Way old friends do, Head over Heels , Cassandra , So long and add in Slipping through my fingers, WDIHTBM, bang a boomerang, As good as new , if it wasn’t for the nights, kisses of fire and I’ve been waiting for you. This would mean that all the songs from both Mamma mias plus a few gems like Eagle and The visitors could be found on both albums. Just a thought. Would allow universal to promote More Abba gold and hopefully give Abba another number one as people would be more familiar with lesser known Abba songs after the release of Mamma Mia 2.

I wonder which song will be ‘ The winner takes it all’ big number. Liking the list of songs so far but I thought Ring Ring would have been a definite and maybe the ‘way old friends do’ and Arrival as Cher arrives in a helicopter as a nod to the album cover. Maybe Ring Ring overlooked because of the collaboration with Neil Sedaka?

Happy new year and Andante Andante. The 89 line in Happy new year dates the song . I wish the line could be re recorded maybe with - what lies waiting down the line in the passing of time. This would at least remove the dated line . How about it Bjorn and Benny.? And of course Frida and Agnetha? Anyone else got thoughts on changing that line to give the song timeless appeal. Such a good song.

Just read that Cher will appear and will be singing and dancing. That should be fun. No details on which songs. That will raise the profile even more. I was unsure about an Abba musical 20 years ago and was won over after a friend surprised me with a trip to London and a ticket to see Mamma Mia . In a world full of depressing news , it's great escapism. I just hope the 2nd film can bring as much of a feel good factor as the first. And of course, let's hope it launches Abba further up the charts again.

I think to increase familiarity with the soundtrack the following would have to be included.Summernight City, One of Us and Fernando, Waterloo and TYFTM(last three performed by the Dynamos as difficult to work into a dialogue)and possibly UnderAttack and Head over Heals. These tracks along with TNOTG, KMKY, DQ and MM would increase the singles and better known songs to 11. If that were so, along with the three album tracks we already know about (WIKTT, WDIHTBM, I Wonder)that would take the list to 14. Not leaving a lot of space for other tracks. If that were so I d like to see Kisses of fire, As good as new, Andante Andante, Ring Ring and If it wasn't for the Nights make up the remainder of the soundtrack. Fun speculating. Hoping to be surprised.

Does your mother know in Johnny English. Then there are various songs in Priscilla and Muriel's Wedding. Why did it have to be me was in a film but can't remember what it was called. S.0.S was playing in the background of some cop show - the pathologist was an Abba fan. It might have been Taggart. Also heard Abba in the background in various soaps.?

Doubt if anyone could. However I am a big fan of Madonna too and I just love Hung up and LAAPTMR. Extremely pleased that the Queen of pop covered a track and sampled one by the Royal Family of pop. I am just mad onn abba.

No. The song has not dated well. Really puzzled why The Visitors was not released as a single at this time. Another oppurtunity was missed in 2008 in the height of Mammma Mia movie fever when Slipping through my fingers was not released to tap into The mother/ daughter market. Could have been another number one. Cassandra just didn't do it for me. Liked the new experimentation of tracks like I am the city, should I laugh or cry and TDBYC. Under attack is fine lyrically but think musically it sounded more 1979 than 1982 with Human league etc making their presence known- once referred to as the electronic Abba. Think some of the songs from this time, with a little more work on lyrics and some of the music penned for Chess would have been the body of work for Opus 10 had the boys not been determined todo Chess. Songs such as Anthem, I know him so well, heaven help my heart, one night in Bangkok would have made it but maybe not with the same titles or lyrics as Tim Rice had an influence on these. Cassandra and Poyws sound good vocally but just sound dated. And I am not that keen on the lyrics. Sound like working titles for songs like Billy boy and boogaloo.

April 1976. A Saturday morning promo clip between programmes. Fernando came on and I was totally hooked. I remember saying that will go to number one. Got my pocket money and bought it . I am sure it was 25 pence. Played both sides non stop . Then bought Waterloo album from a newly opened Asda store. Then saved up for Greatest Hits and bought it and then bought Dancing Queen. Got albums Arrival and Abba for Christmas 1976. I was in Abba heaven. 1976 was a fab Abba year and what a summer! Never had a summer like it since.

Arrival. After an album full of powerful , up tempo songs and vocals this is an interesting choice to finish with. Beautiful and haunting melody. Sounds Scottish. Perfect finish for an almost perfect album. Dum Dum Diddle lets down the album. Good tune. Just those lyrics. Arrival has Dum Dum Diddle and The Visitors Two for the Price of One. To think at one point Two for the Price of one was being considered for single release!

Eagle is my choice. I don't think this track would fit best anywhere else on an album. I think the first side of The Album was Abba's best side of any album. Super Trouper a close 2nd and Arrival 3rd. Arrival let down by the horrendous Dum Dum Diddle. Wish they could have replaced that one song on Arrival to make it a perfect album. Favourite closer Arrival although I do think The way old friends could only ever be a closing track. Brings Super Trouper to a fabulous close.

As well as WIKTT I think the following would be good-Hasta Manana, Ring Ring, Dance while the music still goes on, Rock me, So long,I've been waiting for you, Knowing me Knowing you, Why did it have to be me, I wonder, As good as new, Angel Eyes, iF it wasn't for the nights, Kisses of fire, On and on and on, Andante Andante, One of us, Under Attack, The way old friends do ( closure of film), Summer Night City and Just like that, The day before you came and Waterloo. Fernando would be good but tricky to work in unless referred to as a song they used to sing a long to. Me and I could be used to comical effect. We can only guess.
