CMP’s comment that Hit By A Train is more than a rumour isn’t really much more than we already knew, being as it was Little Boots (involved in the show) that mentioned it in the first place. I suspect CMP will expand upon "Hit By A Train" and other outtakes/alternate versions recorded during the 'Voyage' sessions ( between 2017 and 2021) in his forthcoming book covering ABBA's promotional activities. I'm sure I read a while ago that a chapter will be dedicated to both the 'Voyage' album and show so we may get some new insights regarding the process and what remains unreleased. My instincts tell me that "Hit By A Train" and perhaps one other track recorded during the sessions may be released next year, but I am probably getting my hopes up. That said, I do recall rumours from earlier this year that there may be more than two tracks but not an album so you never know. (I still want one last album though...  ) |

I think a 10th studio album, or an EP or even some new/old but never released material would satisfy my ABBA hunger and I could finally let them happily retire. For now, even after Voyage, I have an insatiable craving for more.

Unfortunately CMP said earlier this year that he was unable to discuss Hit by a train and the other track in the book as ABBA wished to keep them "secret". Things may, of course, have changed since then.

It seems there will be *something* on 6th April - the 50th anniversary of Waterloo win Next year's contest final is on 11th May. It's probably best they do something on their anniversary, if they do - and not upstage the contest. In the last ABBA Fanclub magazine it is reported that ABBA themselves will not be involved in anything on 6 April. Which is quite surprising. I expected some kind of event at the ABBA Arena since no public performance is scheduled on that day. But apparently not. |

Yes, it's possible. On the other hand, the Fan Club knows only what they're told, so if ABBA and their management want to keep it secret, the FC will know nothing.
Also, one can speculate what "being involved in something" means. I don't think that attending a Voyage show is much involvement from their part. In any case, it seems something will be happening in the Voyage Arena on 6th April. I would rather read it as "ABBA won't do anything as a group". But maybe you're right and I'm just getting carried away by hoping too much...

I'm hoping against all hope that Björn is just keeping his cards very close to his chest after apparently being 'told off' by the other 3 by giving away too many details regarding the new songs, which led to the Voyage album, in 2019-2021 interviews.

Maybe he's being coy: so many things were lifted from the vaults for ABBA Undeleted and FATSTAPA. From that selection alone, there's probably a lot of potential for unfinished snippets to be dressed up and given a dab of lipstick. Exhibit A: Just A Notion.

Ouch. Not what we wanted to hear if it’s true. Time to lower expectations even further then…
Let’s all get excited about a half-speed remaster vinyl of Waterloo, three 7” picture discs and a coloured 7” vinyl box. And ABBA not appearing at anything.

Well that's a punch in the gut I could have done without today. I know we've created our own build-up and hype around 2024 but I feel genuinely upset if there's more or less nothing. And why ever mention the 2 'resting' tracks if they're not going to be released? I haven't felt this sulky since I was a teenager 😭

And all this talk about "nothing left in the vaults" ... oh come on. They let Carl Magnus Palm write a whole book about the vaults, they even let him listen to all the unreleased stuff, they even release the demos of Like An Angel Passing Through My Room and rework Just A Notion and still try to claim there's nothing?
I've long since stopped believing in what Björn and Benny say. In this case it could mean "we've just finished the new album and ABBA has retired for good and we've emptied the vaults finally, so NOW there's nothing left" 😃 They are worse than politicians.

I used to think that if any material in 'the vaults' was unworthy of our ears for release, why not delete it and be done with it? Then I thought this stuff probably functions now much like a painter's sketchbook - a record/momento of past rejected efforts, only to be heard (if at all) by Benny and Björn and one or two others.
Or maybe Björn is denying things only to give fans a nice surprise later.

Ok, this could be all cloaks and daggers stuff, that said why mention in the first place, how could we ever trust again, stupid, yes we'd probably forgive if something happened, but why bloody well mention that's it all over , then voile two new tracks, it really doesn't make sense...
So all the supposedly exciting build up of 2024. Is turning rapidly into nothing at all, a " new " Waterloo and a second rate TV show in Sweden..oh dear....
I try to be optimistic, but this is now proving to be difficult.....
My favourite saying with ABBA comes to mind ..we wait and see, but realistically if nothing happens this year, then it's well and truly over isn't it.....
